Starting at the Monument Samuel-De Champlain beside the Frontenac stairway, you'll open the Explorial app, enter the 6-digit game code that you received by text and Viator chat message, and take in the St. Lawrence before the descent. The tour is fully self-guided — no guide, no fixed start time, just your group and the city. The Champlain monument opens the story: the navigator who founded the city in 1608 watches over the Dufferin Terrace with the Château Frontenac looming behind. Riddles set sail from here. Down the Breakneck Steps, the Quartier Petit-Champlain unfolds — stone facades, hanging signs and the famous mural where trivia hides in the painted crowd. Then Place Royale completes the journey to the beginning: the square where New France took root, anchored by its little stone church. Around two hours between upper and lower town, funicular optional. The leaderboard renders its verdict — en français ou en anglais.

This was a fun, engaging tour. We let the kids be our guides and navigate us around the old city. We got a bit of history mixed with modern information and the game was interesting and kept us engaged. We saw things we otherwise would have missed or didn't even know about which was wonderful. I think the game can be further expanded to include the Citadel and Plains of Abraham. It wasn't too much walking and kept the kids (13, 13 and 10) engaged. Highly recommend!

We had 2 young teens on one team, mom on one team, dad on one team. We saw parts of the city we wouldn’t have seen otherwise. Loved this.

You need data on your phone. We paid for 2 tickets but once we got there, my husband couldn't play because he didn't have data. We paid for him to play and couldn't play. It was disappointing.

The city is really charming, we loved walking through the small alleys, discovering the highlights and enjoying the terraces to eat. I was a little disappointed by the aquarium, because I had high expectations. I thought it would be as big as Barcelona's, but in reality it was only two small buildings and not varied enough. Montmorency Falls was a great activity. It is best to go early in the morning to avoid the overwhelming heat of the afternoon. We chose to go up by cable car and down on foot to live the full adventure, but the 400 steps at 2pm were not easy.

A great way of hitting all the attractions and the must see places without being bound to a tour guide who might have been less appropriate for young children. We completed this tour at our own pace. The information was great and the tasks were engaging for the kids.

This was a complete waste of money. You had to solve “tasks” at sights that were very difficult to find. There was little information about each sight. Spend you money on a guided tour, not this!!!!
