You will be surprised at the quality of documented paranormal research and authentic chilling tales that have come to define Salem’s reputation. Ghost hunters love our colonial architecture, dimly lit alleyways, and historic cemeteries.
You'll hear some first-hand accounts of weird phenomena, bizarre occurrences experienced by residents and exclusive information of local hauntings researched by investigators. And you will be led by a professional guide who brings the city’s most active spirits to life under the glow of a lantern.

Tour times vary by season. Available tour times reflected during checkout. Please plan to arrive 15-20 minutes prior to your tour. Check in at Salem Historical Tours Office at 8 Central Street, Salem, MA.
Traffic and parking can be very difficult and October is much worse with "LA Level" traffic. Give yourself extra time to get here and park no matter what your GPS is telling you. Check our website for details on where to park and options to get here..
Our public walking tours can pose challenges for participants with mobility and accessibility concerns. Tours are 90 minutes long and about one mile in length. Each participant must be able to complete the one-mile tour within 90 minutes, providing for frequent stops to view sites and for information from the tour guide. As Salem is a historical city, there are narrow and uneven sidewalks, bricks, cobblestones, and stairs. During events and festivals (and particularly October), with crowds and street vendors, the streets can become difficult to navigate.

With the light from the lantern, make your way through Salem's streets. Through your guide's storytelling, dark humor, and captivating tales, learn about the paranormal activity in this infamous town. You will visit as many of these locations as time allows, hearing stories of Visit documented hauntings, accidental death and murder.
Ropes Mansion and Garden
Enter the backyard of the Ropes Mansion that is replete with paranormal activity and includes stories of several people who died in the house. There have been many sightings in the colonial revival garden so take many pictures and maybe you catch an anomaly.

5.00Overall it was a fun and informative tour. Stash, the tour guide, took us around to the top paranormal "hot spots" around Salem. During one of the stops a member in our party started to get an uneasy feeling. Definitely recommended checking this tour out

1.00We had high hopes for this tour. We could tell almost immediately that our guide (Stanley, we think) was not engaging and was not going to provide the experience we hoped for. The gentleman was nice, but boring and quite monotone. He did not interact with us to make it a participatory excursion. Personally I try my hardest to find value in all experiences and would not normally would provide a bad review but this was intolerable and we left the tour early. Do your homework before you book a tour and perhaps check other companies offering a ghost tour of Salem. Sadly it was a waste of our money and a true disappointment.

5.00Our tour guide was Bob and he was very funny! He knew a lot about Salem and its ghost history and he threw in anecdotes about his own ghostly experiences. He was a great story teller and added sound and light effects during the tour. He had several pictures to show us from previous ghost tours and encouraged us to take our own.

5.00My wife and I attended the ghost walk and it was wonderful! Our tour guide was great. She told excellent stories and really engaged with us. The atmosphere was very welcoming and we got to see some great sites. She recommended some great places to check out afterwards for food and for drinks. We had a great experience.
