  My husband and I spent a magnificent Sunday morning doing this hike with our excellent and experienced guide. We loved the mix of beautiful tea plantations and breathtaking hights.   The hike and jeep tour we did with Philip was hands down the best part of our trip to Munnar. He is an amazing guide, knowledgeable on local history, animals and plants. Our trek featured information on Munnar’s history, the tea plantations and a lot more. All senses were engaged as Philip would point us to nice-smelling plants - and he even brought us breakfast and some local fruit to try. It was the best passionfruit we have ever tasted! He also helped us find a good lunch spot and facilitated finding a reliable (electric) tuktuk driver. I definitely recommend booking a hike with Philip, it’s a great experience all around!

• Chokramudi sunrise hike - stunning!

  The 4am alarm was totally worth it for this amazing sunrise hike, which a group of four of us did, guided by Philip. We were picked up from our hotel, which kept things easy for us, and had a fun night-time ride in the jeep to the start, and then walking in the dark up the first part of the mountain, while the sky gradually lightened. An excellent sunrise, and then we kept on hiking all the way to the top, giving us panoramic views of this amazing landscape. Philip was an excellent and very friendly guide, pointing out and naming all the interesting flora and fauna that we came across.

  Great experience with local guide Philip. On our 5 hour trip we hiked up a local hill, were introduced to local flora and fauna and got refreshments and home-made snacks. The trip was inspiring and there was a good overall vibe and I can fully recommend to such a trip as a starting activitiy to get aquainted with th local beauty

• Chokramudi sunrise hike - an epic morning in Munnar

  This was an INCREDIBLE morning! A group of 4 of us did the Chokramudi peak hike with Philip, an absolute legend. For an extra fee him and his colleague picked us up from our hotels at 4:45am in a jeep and we drove to the start of the walk. Then began our hike to the peak - taking breaks as we went to catch our breaths, enjoy the scenery and learn abut local plants and birds. Philip made sure we were safe - he carried a first aid kit, was attentive to our ability, and gave advice at any trickier spots of the hike. It was definitely a cardio challenge with the hill, and once or twice we needed hands to help us with some steep/rocky sections, but it was all the right level of challenge. If you've done any hiking in the Lake District/Dartmoor (or anything harder) then you'll be absolutely fine. Not only would I recommend this walk, I'd recommend Philip as a guide and a friend. (LGBTQIA+ friendly)

  He was an excellent guide, giving us very good and interesting explanations. He adapted to our pace and looked after us, providing us with water and food. We would definitely book with him again.

  We are delighted with the two days spent with Philippe to discover Munnar between hiking and walking in the tea plantations. He knows the surroundings very well. He was also good advice on things to do in Munnar itself. We highly recommend it!
