5.00I recently took a guided walking tour of Turin, and it was a real discovery of the city! Turin was presented not only as the capital of the Savoy Dynasty, but also as a cozy, elegant city with long arcades, squares and hidden corners. The guide talked interestingly and livelylylyly, not overloaded with dates, but adding curious details and stories, which made the city play with very different colors. A visit to the Royal Palace was particularly impressive. This place literally breathes greatness: luxurious halls, glitzy gilding, huge mirrors and magnificent reception rooms. But most impressive of all, the Armory’s collection is incredibly impressive. As a result, the tour was very rich: a walk through the city gave an overview of its history and atmosphere, and the palace became a real “cherry on the cake” – an immersion in the world of kings and queens. Turin is definitely worth a visit, and with such a guide the walk turns into a fascinating time travel.
