This product offers two separate things: Visiting the venues of the Jewish Cultural Quarter at your own pace (The entrance tickets to these venues are valid for one entire week) and a walking tour with live guide at the designated time, which start in front of the Jewish Museum (English guide) and Portuguese Synagogue (Italian, Spanish, French and German guide)
Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller
Service animals allowed
Public transportation options are available nearby
Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
The walking tour starts daily at 2pm in front of the main entrance of the Jewish Museum.
A visit to the Jewish Cultural Quarter is therefore recommended to plan before the start of the walking tour.
Who were the Jews who began settling in the Netherlands around 1600? What do Jews celebrate on Pesach? And why do Jews wear a kippah? Come and find out at the Jewish Museum. Through personal stories, unique objects and art you’ll find out everything you ever wanted to know about Jewish religion, history and culture. You’ll learn about Jewish customs, rituals and festivals and you’ll see how Jews keep those traditions alive today. Discover Jewish life then and now and everything in between.
Portugese Synagoge
In the heart of the old Jewish neighbourhood stands the Portuguese Synagogue. The biggest synagogue in the world when it was built in the 17th century. Jews still worship here to this day, but whenever this wonderful building isn’t being used for services it’s open for you to visit. Everyone is welcome. Whether you’re Jewish or not. A visit to the Portuguese Synagogue is a breathtaking experience. Everything has been kept just as it was in the 17th century. Instead of electric lights, the synagogue is lit by hundreds of candles.

The Spanish guide Edwin was very professional and worked hard to explain everything, but our reservation was with a guide in Portuguese, which did not appear, so your service as a company was bad but the guide Edwin was great

Giovanni was our tour guide. He was excellent. Great mix of Ann Frank related information, as well as other great information about the cultural center of Amsterdam. Very engaging. The tour covered a good distance and gave us good perspective on the Holocaust impact in Amsterdam. Highly recommend.

Angie is quite an amazing guide! She is super knowledgeable and informative. She masterfully conveyed her dedication and passion throughout the tour. She is easy to talk and made everyone feel so welcomed. On top of that, the tour itself was quite interesting. It definitely gives you a glimpse into that time from places you’d otherwise not think about. Overall, this was an amazing tour! Definitely well worth the time!
