The best experience to learn about the old arts of Venice lagoon islands: Murano and Burano.
With a private boat from Venice, directly to the oldest original Murano Glass Factory, where a Master glassblower and his team are working daily, following the tradition of centuries ago. From Murano, crossing the lagoon, we’ll reach Burano island, famous for its lace work and the colourful atmosphere. Walking by picturesque houses, enjoying the typical “bussolai” (famous cookies of the island), feeling like a resident. Last but not least, an insightful guided visit into an historical hand-made lace workshop.
Then back to Venice by private boat, for an outstanding view of the lagoon.

5.00A fabulous day with our tour guide Nico. Everything was perfect - Nico was very energetic and clearly very knowledgeable. His insights about Venetian life and history were captivating. 5.00Sebastian was the perfect tour guide. He was both knowledgeable and charismatic. Murano was very interesting and the glasswork was beautiful. Burneo is like a storybook town. Charming and the lace was beautiful. Overall a lovely day.

5.00Perfect way to spend the day and our guide Georgia was amazing. Highly recommend the private tour to Murano and Burano. The boat ride was lovely and got to see a different side of Venice. The glass factory was impressive. We did feel pressure by the staff to make a large purchase which was a little uncomfortable. Burano was spectacular. We wish we could have stayed longer. Georgi showed us the town and areas that were off the beaten path. Definitely loved this island.

5.00We had such a fabulous time with Nico, a native Venetian, touring the islands of Murano and Burano. Our kids (11,8&6) had a great time seeing how glass is made in the very traditional glass blowing method and seeing lace being made. We all learned something and had a great time. Private boat transfers were so very nice (hold onto your hats though😉🤣).

5.00After a stellar “Real Hidden Venice” tour with Sebastian’s in Venice, we were thrilled when we arrived at our meeting point for this tour and found him again. Guiding us for a second day, he was as engaging and knowledgeable about this nearby islands as he was about Venice proper. Our favorite had to be the beautiful art of glass making. A lifetime of work by master artisans who craft breathtaking pieces with ease and precision in ways that are difficult to comprehend without seeing them in action. Walking through the showroom is an immersive and enlightening experience in what in means to be a true master. They are very much painters of glass. We were all in awe. We continued on to Burano where we learned about the history of the colorful landscape and the almost lost art of lace making. By exposing ourselves to these generational trades, we felt closer to understanding the full depth of what it means to be Venetian, even today. We highly recommend this tour.
Tourist Trap – Avoid!

1.00Warning – three overpriced water taxi rides! The guide was nice, but in every city you get handed over to a salesperson who tries to sell you something – sometimes quite aggressively. This really took away from the experience. My tip: Just take the Vaporetto – it costs around €20 and you can do your own thing at your own pace. This tour package is definitely a tourist trap and not worth the money.

5.00The glass blowing experience was excellent! The master glass maker Nicola Cicoria was incredible to watch an entire piece to be made. Also Tomias was an excellent guide and very friendly!

5.00This was the highlight of our trip to Venice. We had a private water taxi that took us to every location we wanted to visit. Our tour guide was incredibly cool, friendly, and knowledgeable. She answered all our questions and made us feel like we were friends by the end of the tour. The best part of our trip was visiting the glass studio on Murano and then going to Burano. I highly recommend booking this tour; it’s hassle-free and a great way to experience Venice.

5.00This was a fabulous tour. Our guide, Tomas, was knowledgeable, well spoken, enthusiastic and had so much information to share with us. The tour of the Murano glass factory was exceptional, and we enjoyed our time on Burano. I would strongly recommend this tour and the Shome. Venice Company.
