Nice excursion in an open-air pickup truck. Seats were comfortable and roomy. It was a really hot day, so as long as we were moving, the breeze made it enjoyable. Our guide took us all the way around the island. The scenery was beautiful. Commentary was given at each stop but not continuously throughout the day since our guide was also the driver. Our favorite stop was at the Pearl Farm because we had a very detailed demonstration on the entire process.

The guide was very knowledgeable, but we found there was a bit too much plant information. Viewing the Marae Site was very interesting.

Hubert met us promptly at the pier and reviewed the itinerary with us. The truck could seat eight but we had extra space since there were only 5 of us. The benches were well padded and comfortable. We were very happy that the weather cooperated and provided plenty of sunshine. All the views were breathtaking and Hubert’s descriptions and storytelling enhanced the experience. We stopped at his house to tour his tropical garden and sample its fruits and honey. Overall, a great experience.

Great tour guide , Herbert gave us a fantastic tour. Knew the island and all of its history. Pearl farm was very educational and explained how pearls come to be !! Great stops with wonderful views and lots of history. He took his time explaining all the beautiful features of the island. Had snacks and honey at his house and toured his personal gardens, which both enjoyed. Thanks again Hubert

We spent nearly 4 hours exploring this lovely island with a local guide who knows the Island well. We sped around the Island in the back of a Ford truck with padded benches which can accommodate 8, but we were only 4. We stopped at great vistas, a pearl farm, a holy site (Marae), and the guides home were we tasted his homemade honey and fresh fruit he grows himself. A particularly interesting character he sailed to Tahiti from France on a boat he built himself and now build his own house with a sustainable garden. He has been on Island for 35 years and has much to share. We and the other 2 guests enjoyed the guide, the time spent, and the Island.

The guide was fabulous. Very interesting, knowledgeable, and informative. The 4x4 was a rough but comfortable ride. I would not recommend it for those with back problems.

Hubert as a superb guide who took us around the island, to the main historic places where he told the story very well. The bonus was going to his small farm and having pineapple he had just harvested, bananas and his own honey.

An excellent 4 x 4 ride around Raiatea, including stops at panoramic viewpoints, a very well preserved marae, a small pearl producer who gave an outstanding explanation on how they are produced, and a stop at the guide’s home to tour his extensive tropical garden, including a tasting of his pineapples and homemade honey (outstanding BTW). The guide was terrific—the best I’ve had in French Polynesia. Highest recommendation.
