This is our second Around the Island Tour with Edison, both time with our American friends. We had a blast with both tour, with excellent tour route, fabulous hotels, very knowledgeable tour guide (John Chan this time), and great CP value. As every guided tour we had been on (we did Italy last year), it is a bit rushed so they can pack in as much as they can, but we got to see the highlight of Taiwan. As a Taiwanese, I appreciated the tour and the information. We had great meals both with tour and by ourselves. Our tour had about 40 people on the bus, and we all got along well. Bus driver is excellent and safe. It was a great time and would do it again for the third time. I highly recommend Edison to all of my American friends.

Excellent value! In five days we felt like we got a very good overview of Taiwan -- the landscape, variety of sights, history, and culture. Alan is an excellent guide with a great depth of knowledge and a wonderful sense of humor! Staying in 5-star hotels was a definite plus. And our international tour group (from at least 8 different countries) gelled together very well.

We enjoyed the tour tremendously. The tour guide Alan Chou was amazing - very informative with great slides that he showed on the screen. I learnt a lot about Taiwan - the history, the people, the cuisine, culture etc. We highly commend him. The choice of hotels was also very good - all 5 star. Our driver also did a great job - on time always, very helpful, drove very safely on windy roads. We got great value for money. The service level everywhere was very good. The entire tour exceeded our expectations & I highly recommend it and our tour guide. Taiwan is a hidden gem!

  • Sorry to say kinda boring

Despite a great guide (Alan), a luxurious bus, nice hotels, I found the itinerary rather boring except for day 4 traveling up the east coast along the Pacific Ocean. That was a nice day with a great train trip included. The other days just failed to excite. I hadn’t realized when I booked thru ON THE GO that this was farmed out to another company for this 5 day tour (of an 8 day tour). When I was here on an ocean cruise excursion, I went to a former mining town on a hillside converted into an artist colony. This impressed me enough to want to come back to Taiwan, but unfortunately it wasn’t on the itinerary. I would have been nice to learn about modern day Taiwan (economy, politics, health care, education), but that information was scant.

I returned from New York to participate in the five-day tour of the island on March 30, 2026, arranged by Mr. Jimmy Wong, Mr. Alan Zhou as a guide, Mr. Wong's detailed planning and Mr. Zhou's careful and careful introduction to the tour, so that the whole family and the four of us enjoy a pleasant trip and perfect memories, the driver Mr. Eason had a fine safe driving, the comfort of the accommodation of the five-star hotel and the choice of excellent attractions is perfect. The best travel team in Taiwan. Thank you 👍 for your service, let you press countless 👍

We had a fantastic time during this 5-day trip. Our guide Alan Chou was very informative. He often provided extra information (such as the type of crops grown by fields we passed by) which gave us a better understanding of Taiwan and its culture. Alan's great sense of humour also added to the atmosphere. The tour was well catered to everyone in the group, with alternatives provided if we couldn't climb stairs. Other than the hike up to Ci'en pagoda, the attractions weren't too physically demanding. Some of the accommodations were dated but decent overall.

  • Relaxing and insightful tour with top-notch accommodations

    yershov2008,Mar 28, 2026

    - Review from Tripadvisor

I took this 5-day tour in the summer of 2025 and had a very memorable, relaxing experience. Our guide, Ciao (Chia-hao), was wonderful. He provided calm, factual, and insightful commentary about Taiwan's culture and history, avoiding the exaggerated tourist tales some guides rely on. Expect to spend a fair amount of time on the bus, but the driver navigated the mountain roads exceptionally smoothly. The pacing is very comfortable, with sightseeing usually wrapping up by 5:00 PM. The 5-star hotel accommodations were fantastic (many included indoor hot springs!), leaving us with plenty of free time in the evenings to rest or explore the local neighborhoods. Unfortunately, our trip coincided with Typhoon Danas, which caused severe flooding and forced us to skip Tainan and head straight to Kaohsiung. Additionally, Taroko Gorge was closed due to the previous year's earthquake. While it was a pity to miss Tainan's historical sites, Ciao and our driver did an incredible, responsible job adapting to the circumstances and prioritizing our safety. Tip: Lunch and dinner are not included, and lunch time can sometimes feel a bit tight. I highly recommend researching local restaurants and specialties on Google Maps before your trip. We did this, met some welcoming local owners, and ate amazingly well. It definitely boosted our trip's happiness index!

A wonderful way to explore Taiwan outside of Taipei. Alan was the best guide you could ask for. He was extremely funny and had great recommendations and fun facts about everywhere we went. The hotels were comfortable and some of them had hot springs available, which was a big bonus.
