Jokulsarlon
We head east, along the southern shore, to the unique Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and the Diamond Beach. The Lagoon developed around 60 years ago with a continuous process of calving and falling icebergs from the glacier tongue Breiðamerkurjökull. These icebergs are seen in two shades: milky white and bright blue, an interplay of light and ice crystals. The Lagoon is filled with fishes that drift in from the sea along with the tides. Seals gather in large numbers at the mouth of the Lagoon to catch the fish during winter, which is a sight to be seen.
Diamond Beach
Located nearby, visit the Diamond Beach, renowned for its stunning black sand covered with sparkling icebergs that have washed ashore. These icebergs, originating from the glacier lagoon, create a breathtaking contrast against the dark volcanic sand, making it a popular spot for photographers and nature enthusiasts. The ever-changing landscape of ice fragments glistening in the sunlight provides a unique and mesmerizing experience.
Vatnajokull National Park
On the return journey, travel through the stunning Vatnajökull National Park. This vast protected area is home to Europe’s largest glacier, dramatic mountain peaks, and powerful waterfalls cascading into deep valleys. The landscape is shaped by both ice and fire, with signs of ancient volcanic activity visible amid the lush green vegetation and glacial rivers. It’s a place where Iceland’s raw natural forces come together to create truly breathtaking scenery.
Accommodation in Reykjavík
Reynisfjara Beach
On this day, we will enjoy a ride along the south coast of Iceland. This coastal road offers views of glacier tongues, waterfalls, rugged hills, black sand beaches, and its famous volcanoes. We visit the black sand beach at Reynisfjara to view the geological formation and the smashing waves. Be careful not to step too close as the waves can be dangerous.
Skogafoss
Visit Skógafoss with a drop of 60 meters (197 feet) and a width of 25 meters (82 feet), it creates a stunning display, especially on sunny days when rainbows often form in the mist. The waterfall is not only a natural wonder but also steeped in local legend, with tales of hidden treasure waiting to be discovered behind its cascading waters.
Seljalandsfoss
Next up we visit Seljalandsfoss where you can walk behind the waterfall but dress well, as the water mist behind the waterfall can make you wet.
Blue Lagoon
The final highlight before getting back to Reykjavik is the spectacular Blue Lagoon. The Blue Lagoon is on the National Geographic list of 25 wonders of the world, claiming it is a geothermal gift of nature. Enjoy soaking in the mineral-rich water with its fine silica mud experience (this is an optional extra).
Reykjavik
From the Blue Lagoon, we head to Reykjavik and drop you off at your hotel.
Keflavik
Make your own way to Keflavík Airport.
Blue Lagoon Included: Blue Lagoon Bathing Fee Included
Blue Lagoon not Included: Blue Lagoon bathing fee is not included in the price. People visit the Blue Lagoon but will not bathe in it.

This was one of the best multi-day tours I’ve ever joined, made unforgettable by a stunning Aurora sighting. Our guide Heimir, a local Icelander, is funny, knowledgeable and engaging throughout the journey, sharing fascinating stories about Icelandic history and geography. He was also great at photography and helped me with many amazing photos. The highlight of the trip was witnessing a spectacular Aurora substorm during our stay at Hotel Katla near Vik. It was an absolutely breathtaking display—vivid, powerful and something to remember for a lifetime. The hotels arranged for the tour were clean and well located (Hotel Katla even has an outdoor swimming pool and a small sauna). Overall, this was a well-paced and carefully curated tour that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Iceland for the first time, especially if you’re not self-driving.

We travelled 13 - 17 Feb and had a great time, arriving late afternoon to Rekjavik gave us time to explore the sights and lucky enough to see the Northern Lights. The following days were full according to the well planned itinery, allowing enough time to see everything but not feeling rushed, nor feeling that we were hanging around. Our driver (Peter) was great, knowledgeable, informative with a wonderful sense of humour filling travel time with personal stories. Hotels were absolutely fine for the time we were there and great location (Hotel Klettur in Rekjavik and Hotel Katla in Vik) Food and drink was expensive but we knew to expect this. Would just advise against visiting the IceBar, it's an absolute waste of time and money with poor ice sculptures and cheap fizz that tasted awful. Can see that most reviews for ice bar are of a similar vein. But that didn't affect our overall enjoyment of visitngIcsland, we answered why people retun time and again. Don't hesitate- just book it 😀

A really well organised tour that took us to all the best spots! We managed to see so many amazing sights that were so much better than I expected, Glaciers, icebergs, waterfalls, geysirs, diamond beach etc Even though we saw so much it did not feel too rush, and we always had the right amount of time to walk around the area, sometimes 30 minutes, an hour or more, so you could explore and walk as far or little as you wanted. The hotels they picked were both good quality and in great locations. The hotel near Vik was especially great with amazing food, beautiful location and a sauna, hot tub and gym. You could sit in the hot tub till 11pm and try to see the northern lights. The guide gave us lots of interesting facts about the history, sights and culture of Iceland when we were driving around. It was nice we did not all have to walk together and you could explore where you wanted too. This tour was way better than I expected and I would recommend to anyone who has this amount of time in Iceland. We added the blue lagoon that I would recommend, and a northern lights hunt for our last night in Reykjavik. Our tour stared on 9th Jan but I forgot the guides name sorry!

Our driver Pall and guide Petur were absolutely fantastic. We learned a lot about the places we visited, and life in Iceland in general, with some great bits of humour along the way. We had some last minute changes to our trip due to the strikes in Reykjavik but were always kept informed on what was happening. When we return to Iceland again we will be booking with Snaeland Travel.
