Famous Hollywood star Marilyn Monroe once was swept over the bow falls as they filmed for “River of No Return.”

One of the most admired destinations in Yoho National Park is Emerald Lake. This gorgeous emerald coloured lake is a result of the light refracting the deposit of rock flour in the lake. Emerald Lake is surrounded by the President Range that forms a natural amphitheater with towering forested banks. If you look carefully, you might be able to spot some really cool wildlife such as marmots, bald eagle, bears, loons, and the occasional moose!
Stop at the Natural Bridge along the way and admire the Kicking Horse River as it carves a path through ancient rock. You can view the incredible natural formation from different perspectives at vantage points with interpretive displays that tell you about interesting facts about Natural Bridge. Medicine Lake
Medicine Lake, also known as “the lake that disappears” is located 20 km southeast of the town of Jasper. Medicine lake is a 7 km long narrow lake that is formed by the Maligne River. Interesting enough, the lake loses water as it flows. Why is that you may ask? When the water is on its way to merge with the Athabasca river, it reaches the medicine lake area, and pools up to form the Lake over the largest inaccessible limestone cave system.
Jasper
Evening Return to Jasper in the evening and check in to your hotel. Enjoy time to rest and unwind, surrounded by the quiet beauty of Jasper National Park.
Begin with a tranquil stop at Pyramid Lake (40 minutes). Calm waters mirror the surrounding peaks, offering a peaceful farewell to Jasper’s alpine scenery.
Columbia Icefield Discovery Centre
Columbia Icefield, one of North America’s largest icefields. Guests may choose to join optional experiences (approx. 180 minutes total), including the Ice Explorer, which travels directly onto the ancient Athabasca Glacier, and the Columbia Icefield Skywalk, a glass-floored platform suspended 280 metres above the Sunwapta Valley. Peyto Lake
Travel south along the legendary Icefields Parkway, often ranked among the world’s most scenic drives. Stop at Peyto Lake (30 minutes), famed for its vivid turquoise colour and iconic viewpoint. If Peyto Lake is inaccessible due to maintenance or other conditions, the visit will be replaced with Waterfowl Lakes.
Bow Lake
Continue to Bow Lake (15 minutes), where changing light and mountain reflections create a final postcard-perfect scene. Pass through Banff before continuing onward to Calgary, concluding your Rocky Mountains adventure. Arrival time in Calgary may vary depending on schedule, traffic and weather conditions.
