Transfer from your hotel to Addis Abeba Bole International Airport for your internal flight south to Arbaminch. Southern region is noted for its enormous variety of peoples &culture. Up on arrival at Arbaminch meet your driver and transfer to your accommodation.Then in the afternoon short drive to visit the Dorze tribe who lives on the Guge Mountain. The Dorze are renowned for their cotton-weaving techniques and beehive shaped houses constructed entirely from organic materials. Drive 90 km to Konso and visit the Konso village which is a UNESCO world heritage site. You will also visit the Konso museum and continue driving 200km to Turmi town where the Hamar tribe lives nearby. On the way you will visit the Arbore tribe. Over Night Buska Lodge

After breakfast ,drive 62km west to meet with the Karo tribe who are famous for elaborate face and body painting. You will have a traditional coffee ceremony with a family from Karo/Kara tribe in Korcho Village. Return to Turmi for lunch, you may visit the Hamar tribal market on Monday or Thursday, or head to Dimeka to visit the Hamar tribal market on Saturday. In the late afternoon, around 5:30 pm, you will visit the Hamar traditional village and have a coffee ceremony in a Hamar traditional house. You may see the Hamar Bull Jumping Ceremony on this day (if available).

Drive 75km south to meet with the Dassanech tribe who live near the Omo River. You will cross the Omo River with a traditional dugout wooden canoe and walk for about 10-minute to the village. After interacting well with the Dassanech tribe and visiting a family house in the village. Return to Turmi town for lunch and continue the 130 km drive to Jinka. You may visit a colorful market of the Hamar or Banna tribe in Turmi, Demeka, Aldubba , or Keyafer towns on a market day (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday) on the way to Jinka. Finally, you will visit the Aari tribe village and hed to your lodge.

Enter to the Mago National Park to visit Mursi tribes’ village. Mursi tribes are the most famous tradition includes the lip plate worn by the women. The origin of this tradition is not known but the Mursi themselves consider it as something that makes them distinguish from the surrounding tribes. Afternoon transfer to the airport and fly back to Addis. Depending up on-time final shopping at the souvenir shop. The evening has welfare dinner at a traditional restaurant with folkloric dance then transfer to airport to fly back home.

5.00Our recent family trip to ethiopia with dabakil depression Travels was an absolutely wonderful experience! Everything was well-organized, from the accommodations to the sightseeing. The itinerary was well-planned, allowing us to enjoy the breathtaking beauty of Ethiopia without any hassles. A special mention to our guide, who was knowledgeable, friendly, and always ready to help. His insights and local recommendations made the trip even more memorable. Overall, onwer mickey and his team provided excellent service, and I highly recommend them to anyone planning a trip to omo valley and the rest of ethiopia ! Will definitely choose them again for future travels.

4.00Good communication via WhatsApp before the tour. My guide Abey and the driver for the Omo Valley were very nice and helpful. I can highly recommend them. Unfortunately I didn’t get to see a bull fight ….guess there were none during my time there and the Mursi tribe was changed to a different tribe for safety. A lovely touch was the birthday celebration in the tribal village. Thank you. Ethiopia is a beautiful country and visiting the Omo valley was very special. I can highly recommend it.

5.00Had a great experience on the 5 day Omo Valley excursion with Danakil Depression Tours. Flights from Addis Ababa roundtrip (not included in the basic tour price) were handled by Mickey. My itinerary started in Arba Minch being met by my main guide, Abey and driver, Robin. The nickname of the driver may have been Robert, but he responded to Robin just the same. There was also an additional guide for each tribal village visited. In total, the villages of six tribes (Dorze, Konso, Hamar, Karo, Aari, and Mursi) were visited. Also met individuals from the Banna tribe during stops along the drive. Was lucky to attend a Hamar bull jumping ceremony. My understanding was that the next one was to take place in another 9 days thereabouts, so it must be regarded as a bonus experience. Anyhow, Abey and Robin did a great job with everything. Both of them along with at least two village guides also used my phone camera to photograph and video the encounters and activities. This freed me up to concentrate using my primary camera, which was a major plus. My itinery had four nights accomodations Arba Minch, Turmi (2), and Jinka (last). All met my expectations for the region. Wildlife was also encountered in or near Chamo Lake and Mago National Park. Overall, it was a great experience.

5.00I have relied heavily on previous reviews and chose danakil depression tours o organise our 12- day tour through Ethiopia. Emails were always answered promptly and good advise given regarding different sites/ options for our itinerary. We were really taken care of from the moment we landed in Addis Ababa. Everything was meticulously planned, everything thought of and all was printed and given to us in writing. Then I think it came the greatest test when for reasons not related to the trip, we had to cut the trip short by 3/4 days and return to London last minute. Not only the response time from the agency to my emails was prompt but they did everything to make the process easy for us taking care of us until the last minute. Given that the impromptu change was due to my own unforeseen circumstances, I know danakil depression (or any other company in this circumstances) would not be legally obliged to return any money. However, the owner himself Mickey came to our hotel to refund everything that was un-spent expense for the cancelled days. What good impression I already had from planning the trip with them to the days we spent in Ethiopia with Danakil Depression tours was exponentially extrapolated to new levels of professionalism I rarely witnessed in the UK, USA or any other first world agent. I would say without reservations that these people are professional, honest and have the clients interest and well being as their top priority. We will come back to finish our trip one day and explore other parts of the country and will use them again for sure.

5.00We recently had an amazing trip to Arba Minch ,jinka and Turmi. It was a 5 day trip and we were really worried since it was our first trip to africa . We were a family of 4 that is we have 2 kids who were very small 4 and 2 years old. So we wanted everything planned and sorted before we started off. To our surprise, we had an amazing travel Agent Mickey who helped us with all our bookings. We had a very good stay in all places and I really enjoyed the stay. We were arranged with a cab which was with us the entire trip. Driver Deepak was really good and very patient to guide us and take us to all incredible places. He gave us insights about the place and made us feel comfortable throughout our tiring long car journeys. We were also assisted by travel guides in jinka and arba minch who explained the history of Ethiopia .They were really patient enough to explain the history of each and every small detail about the place. All thanks to Mickey to help us travel with ease and make our trip a memorable one. we found him.on ethiopia travel forum, honest and reliable.

5.00Our trip with Danakil Depression tours to Singapore and Ethiopia was awesome.. We started for a five day trip from omo valley and were provided with Tour manager Mr Mickey to travel with our team . Mr. Mickey managed the trip crew so carefully that we always felt safe and comfortable. Every time he paid special attention to keep everyone as group and took pain to manage all our activities well organised. He did make sure that we didn’t wait anywhere, let it be in the hotel for getting the keys or for getting the tickets to enter the theme parks. Wonderful experience.. we are happy and satisfied with the service. Keep up the good work👍🏻

5.00A wonderful experience with Danakil Depression Tours during our 4 nights and 5 days trip to omo valley We were guided by Mr. Mickey , an experienced tour guide, who has a great personality and was well mannered. Was my parent's third trip with them and myfirst experience . Only with the trust and care that they had previously given, we booked again with them.Very enlighted with the pleasant experience with them. "Mickey handles everything well " - they feed you really well that you will put on weight by the end of the trips , lets you stay only in premium star hotels, everything is well coordinated and arranged. Our tour captian Mr Mickey who was with us throughout the trip is young, vibrant, always with a smile, never on a bad temper even at testing times ,should be highly appreciated. He took great care of each and every thing. 5.00Perfectly organized photo trip to the south We were there in December 2023 together with the Munich professional photographer Günter Lenz, on a photo trip through the south of Ethiopia. This trip was organized by Mickey, owner of the agency "Danakil Depression Tours. The perfect organization took us to the tribes along the Omo River. The trip went without any problems and gave us a lot of opportunity to get in touch with the locals. Our experienced driver and guide , with knowledge of the country's culture and good knowledge of the German language, rounded off the trip perfectly. We can 100% recommend his company travel to Ethiopia. Thanks to Mickey and his team.
