What To Expect
Relax in a spacious, mountaintop aurora viewing cabin near Murphy Dome, designed for comfort, visibility, and extended Northern Lights viewing. Enjoy complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and snacks while staying warm indoors as you watch the night sky. When aurora activity increases, guests are free to step outside into our vast 10-acre open yard, offering 360° unobstructed sky views and wide, barrier-free sightlines for optimal aurora viewing and photography. A professional guide continuously monitors aurora activity using a live aurora camera, helping determine the best moments to view and photograph the Northern Lights both indoors and outdoors. On the tour day, final details will be confirmed with you. If you’ve booked a transfer service, departures typically occur between 9:00–9:30 p.m., with flexible options available, including airport drop-offs. We look forward to hosting you at Aurora Camp.

5.00Joy and David were wonderful hosts! The drive to the cabin was prompt and comfortable. The cabin was clean and warm. Plenty of snack options and a clean bathroom available. They updated throughout the night and took pictures once the lights were at their strongest point. Highly recommend booking if you want to see the Northern Lights!

5.00Viewing the aurora borealis is a natural phenomenon, unpredictable when it will showcase in the sky. Joy & David were accommodating, personal & professional. The ride to the mountain was good, cabin is clean with snacks, drinks and available restroom. If we have time, would do it again

5.00A very pleasant experience with Aurora Camp tour. Joy and David were very friendly and kind. They picked us up early so there was no rush. Their cabin was very clean and there were various kinds of food, drinks and entertainment available so we didn't get bored while waiting for lady aurora to appear. We got unlimited documentation (David’s photo skill is legit), also aurora certificate and postcards as souvenirs. I recommend you to join the tour with them.

5.00We were lucky to have been able to sight the Northern lights. Joy was an awesome host. She went out of the way to ensure we are comfortable. The place itself is an excellent place with a lot of food and games to keep you busy while you wait for the lights. They also take pictures for you with the lights which is an awesome memory

2.00We travelled a long way to experience the northern lights. Our experience was just OK. I was expecting something a little more educational for myself and my kids. The guide spoke very broken English and we couldn’t understand him unfortunately. Even if we wanted to ask questions, we wouldn’t have been able to understand him. The night we went Mother Nature wasn’t cooperating. We barely saw anything ,but in photos a small green strip came out. It was all a bummer. Our last night in Fairbanks we drove up to Murphy dome in the rental car and got the show I had always dreamt of. Real tears! Regrets spending the money on a tour, but it is what it is. I’m sure many others have better luck.

5.00David did a great job bringing us out to Aurora Camp. Provided snacks and drinks the whole time. Cabin is nice and spacious. A great place to get warm. David took professional grade photos of us with the Aurora as well. Unforgettable experience. Thank you

1.00Aurora was very minimal that day.but this cabin ppl didn’t give time to wait for some more time and watch.immediately after 12 am started shutting the cabin. Hardly we were there for 1 hr

1.00Guests at my hotel were sharing that their aurora tours (from a different operator) were being canceled & refunded because of bad weather. This one was not. I asked the driver if it was being canceled and he said, "There's always a chance." There wasn't. He never updated us once we were at the cabin. I asked once if he would dim the lights in case the lights appeared, but he said, "There's nothing on my screen." No updates, no other information. Had to stay until it was snowing really hard. I would recommend a different operator.
