Discover Nara's must-see landmarks on the deluxe coach tour and try to make Matcha tea at Uji in Kyoto, the birthplace of matcha.
We will drive pass Fushimi Castle and Heijokyo Palace on the way to Nara. We will visit Todaiji Temple, a house of the Great Buddha of Nara and it is one of the world’s largest wooden buildings. Meet about 1,400 deer at Nara Park, you can even feed them rice crackers. Then we visit Kasuga Taisha Shrine where 3000 magical stone lanterns enlighten you. After lunch, we go to Uji area in Kyoto and try making Uji matcha tea! Spot the Byodo-in Phoenix Hall depicted on the back of the 10-yen coin at Uji.

Please make sure to bring cash with you. Deer crackers can only be purchased with cash, and some shops also accept cash only, so having cash will be necessary and convenient.
We do not supply any extra pick up & drop off service.
The lunch/restaurant may change due to operational reasons.
If any of the visiting places is closed, we will try to attend an alternative place.
Customers will walk including stairs and hills in each places
Due to the weather conditions, traffic conditions, or suspension of operation, we may have a possibility not to achieve all the activities. The tour will be attending to alternative place or giving out a gift as a compensation, depending on the situation at that time. There will not be any refunds for these changes.
Itinerary order is subject to change depending on traffic, weather, and operation.
Late arrivals will not be entertained and joining midway is not feasible for the tour. Please arrive the meeting point on time.
Not recommended for travelers who can not walk long distance. This tour includes lots of walkings.

5.00Chi-Chan is such a lovely tour guide!! Between every bus ride, she would have a flipbook ready to explain the thought provoking historical context behind the locations we are visiting. My favorite part was the uji-matcha experience, whisking high grade matcha along with the matcha champion (the last samurai). All the matcha themed sweets and the authentic Japanese crusine was delicious! Extra special thanks to the bus driver Enomoto-san for the peaceful bus drive AND giving us candies along the ride!

5.00So much was packed into one day, and it was so enjoyable! Chi-chan did an amazing job as a guide, educating us ancient Japanese culture and history. The places and experiences were worth the price, and I would most definitely come back for the tea ceremony alone! But be careful the deer do bite if you don’t feed them fast enough; although Chi-chan will teach how to handle them!

5.00We had a wonderful time on this tour. Truly amazing sights and a thoughtful schedule. Den was a terrific tour guide and did a great job both explaining the sight and connecting with us individually. We did this tour with kids (aged 9 and 13). Den was able to make the tour work for them too!

5.00Great way to see Nara from Kyoto. The air-conditioned bus ride takes about an hour and our guide, Den, provided some good background information on the sites we would see. The bus drops you off near a shrine with a thousand stone lanterns and you start to see the famous deer. Then, you walk downhill to the deer park, where you can choose to feed the deer for 200 yen (cash). The deer are pretty aggressive if you have food, but it's fun to watch both the deer and the people 🤣 A short walk takes you over to the Todaji temple with amazing statues including a massive Buddha statue. Great photo spots at each stop and plenty of time to explore. The half day tour conveniently dropped us back at the Nqra train station to continue our adventures
