What To Expect
Shihding Ciandao Lake
Your tour starts with a visit to Thousand Island Lake, which is located in the south of Shiding District, New Taipei City. The catchment area of Feitsui Reservoir surrounded by hills creates the unique scenery—a lake with thousands of islands, which shares the same name with the “Qiandao Lake” (literally thousand island lake) in China due to the resemblance between the two.
Bagua Tea Garden
The natural terrain and climate make the surrounding area of Feitsui Reservoir an ideal farmland for tea-growing, including Wenshan Baozhong tea and Dong Fang Mei Ren tea. Bagua Tea Plantation is located in this area, too. From the top of the hill, the neatly planted rows of tea look just like the symbols of Eight Trigrams, hence the name. You will make a stop here and enjoy the stunning views of the endless rows of tea plants amidst the rolling hills around you.

5.00This is a bus tour out to Pinglin with stops to view the mountainside tea plantations. Our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable and made for a very positive experience. The mountainside stops are outstanding and the tea presentation was educational and tasty. Definitely worth the price for an evening tour.

5.00We drove through the mountains and saw the tea terraces with mountains and a winding river as the backdrop. We learned about the leaf hopper insect that makes the tea sweeter and guarantees that no pesticides can be used. The tea museum was very interesting, and there is a nesting area for egrets and other interstellar birds near the museum. Then we had an amazing experience learning to enjoy tea with a tea master. Grace was a great tour guide!

5.00Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys tea or just wants to get out of the city to see some beautiful scenery. Christina was a fantastic tour guide who provided a helpful overview of local history and culture, and Mr. Xi was a very safe and efficient driver. The tasting with the tea master was a particular highlight.
Will definitely recommend others for this tour...I have also used them for a 5 day round Taiwan island tour..all very good hotel

5.00This five hour guided tour to visit a tea plantation place, tea house and tea museum nearby Taipei was really satisfying. Although the weather was a bit gloomy, our tour guide Mr Tony was knowledgeable and delightful and so was the experience. Relieved to see other participants were also solo. Quite a small group as four of us and that was probably easy to fully enjoy the tea tastings too.

3.00The tour was OK, but there were several issues. First, the guide was difficult to understand and he both meandered and repeated himself. Second the museum on the tour did not do a good job of explaining the process of manufacturing tea - which has several notable characteristics that affect the taste of tea. I have been to other museums that do a better job of explaining it. Also, the guide does not need to explain the museum as it has signs posted in English that explain everything more clearly. Finally, the tea tasting was well done, but there was a pretty heavy handed expectation that everyone was going to buy some tea from the shop. I felt that could have been handled better.

4.00We really didn't see much of the Thousand Island Lakes. The guide (although we asked for an English speaking guide) was very hard to understand his English. We loved Pinglin and the tea experience. Driver was good but it was a small 6 person van, no water for the tourists, and the AC wasn't working very well for the hour drive into the mountains.
