Alpamayo
Alpamayo High Camp is on the steep glacier at the base of Alpamayo and Quitaraju. Due to the constant shrinkage of the glacier, every year we find a different situation along this section. We find magnificent views from High Camp the summit looks close enough to touch! We have dinner a bit early because we must rise very early, for the long day that awaits us tomorrow. High Camp (5,300 m). Overnight Camp (B/L/D)

Alpamayo
Summit day! One possible route is the French route, a 60 to 80 degree wall of ice which narrows toward the top. . Above the wall, you need to conquer a few meters to the highest point of the narrow ridge. At the summit, you will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the Cordillera Blanca! The neighboring peak of Quitaraju (6,036 m) is almost within striking distance; and to the southwest you can see the remarkable summit of Huascarán (6,768 m.) After a brief rest and photos at the summit, we return quickly to High Camp via a rappel down the route we came up. In good weather, the climb to the summit and return to base camp can be done before noon. The ascent takes 5-6 hours, while the descent takes about 2-3 hours. If participants are tired, we can stay one more night in High Camp. If everyone feels fine, which is usual, we descend to Alpamayo Base Camp (4,300 m). Overnight Camp (B/L/D)

We had an excellent experience with this expedition provider in Huaraz. We stayed in a simple but very clean room, which was perfect for preparing and resting between tours. All expeditions were extremely well organized, and communication with Eric, the head of the office, was always smooth and easy—his English and even German skills were a huge plus. One of our expeditions had to be cut short due to a medical emergency, but Eric immediately arranged a very fast evacuation. His quick and professional response prevented the situation from becoming much more serious, and we were incredibly grateful for his support. We also want to highlight our young mountain guide, Frank Lind, who was absolutely outstanding. His professionalism, calm manner, and excellent guiding skills made us feel safe and supported throughout the entire journey. The absolute highlight was the ascent of Alpamayo. Including the approach and return to the valley, the entire expedition took six days. Thanks to the mule-supported transport, we arrived at a well-equipped base camp with not only our standard tents but also a kitchen tent, a dining tent, and a fantastic kitchen team that even prepared warm meals for us in high camp. This level of comfort and care made the challenging climb an unforgettable experience. We can wholeheartedly recommend this agency to anyone planning an expedition in the Cordillera Blanca.

Preparation / Acclimatization was supervised and prepared by Alpamayo tour from Huaraz. I was able to visit Laguna 69 and other lakes. The approach trek to Santa Cruz has finalized the acclimatization. Only after the other two trainees left I still benefited from all the logistics and a great guide. We doubled all the steps of the trek going directly to the base camp non-stop to the camp "Coral" and directly at the foot of the Alpamayo non-stop to the camp "Moraine". We climbed the Alpamayo via the so-called "Directe des Français" route because the normal route was surmounted by a threatening snow ledge. In just 4 hours and in a real sense of security provided by an unparalleled guide. This climb will remain my best mountaineering course by the undeniable beauty of the most beautiful mountain in the world and its technical commitment. It's not for nothing to do with the weather. We had less luck the following week for the Huscaran attempt, still under its lenticular cloud. The same guide, always as competent and confident. I decided to stop shortly before the summit, in the fog of the cloud, the wind and the sharp cold. Many thanks to Eric Abino and his well-trained teams of guides, cooks, porters, mule drivers.

I’ve been on the road twice with Peru-Expeditions Tours led by Eric Raul Albino Lliuya – and both times it was an all-round outstanding experience! The organization and logistics are absolutely professional and perfectly thought out. Eric and his team really make everything possible to offer participants a safe, successful and unforgettable expedition. The local mountain guides are highly trained, know the region and the routes inside out and consistently pay attention to safety standards at the highest level. Even with spontaneous changes, the team shows impressive flexibility and has the best contacts on site to react quickly and easily. Of particular note is the excellent food – fresh, varied and prepared with a lot of love – as well as the comfort you would hardly expect in the middle of the Andes, such as internet in base camp! I have every confidence in Eric and his team. Unlimitedly recommended for anyone looking for a perfectly organized, safe and authentic mountain expedition in Peru. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — My absolute trust and always again!
