Our tour guide, Harriet, was excellent. We got to see both coasts and we have wonderful photos. We traveled a lot, but well worth it.

Mike was our guide and driver. Lots of information about Auckland and surroundings. Lunch at the winery was very good, just the tasting- standing next to the cashier, wines to warm- was a little bit disapointing.

Wear sensible shoes for walking, some steep steps and walks. Lovely driver, views, and the meal at the winery was beautiful

At first, I thought "we can look around Auckland on our own". Boy, we would have missed allot had we not done this tour. Our guide was extremely well versed and provided a plethora of information about the various areas that we visited as well as the geological history of the area. While visiting the highest volcano in the Auckland area, we saw amazing 360 panoramic views of this northern end of New Zealand. From there, we went to the black sand beach at Piha. The beautiful black sand has a high iron content and our guide had a magnet that we used to pick up sand. Arriving at low tide allowed us to explore the various rock formations. There were people swimming in tidal pools and wading in the surf of the Tasman Sea. We proceeded to temperate rain forests, stunning waterfalls, and a lunch and wine tasting at one of the oldest family-owned wineries in New Zealand.

Where comfortable shoes as there is a far amount of walking to see waterfall and experience the beach. Our guide Maddie was wonderful and took us to areas we wouldn’t have seen if not for this tour.

We are so glad that we found this tour! It ended up being one of our favorites of our trip. We had Harriet as our guide, and she provided such great commentary and took us to such beautiful places (Piha Beach is unreal); also, she took the best photos of our family. The tour was also the perfect length—not so long that it consumes the entire day but not so short that you feel like you didn’t get anything out of it. Cannot recommend enough!

Had great communication starting previous day before tour regarding when and where I'd be picked up. My ship docked late, but Jerome, the tour guide/driver, picked up others ahead of me when I messaged and communicated I would not be available at the earlier arranged time. I appreciated his flexibility immensely. We walked on beautiful Piha Beach, visited Karekare Falls, ate lunch and tasted wine at Soljan's Winery, and traversed up Mt. Eden. It was a day filled with adventure with a small group (8 total), but at a pace fitting for the members. I highly recommend this tour and Jerome for his wonderful navigating skills and extensive knowledge on the environment!
