Your driver/guide will take you on a wonderful sightseeing experience to the heart of New Zealand’s geothermal locations. Departing from the port gates you will travel through Mount Maunganui township past Mauao the iconic landmark mountain and one of New Zealand’s most popular beaches "The Mount Main Beach" home of surfing, professional beach volleyball and surf lifesaving competitions. Hear about the forming of the landscape, the arrival of man and the founding of the city, through to the different produce grown in the province and what modern life is like in the area.
Tauranga
Crossing over the Tauranga harbour bridge you will go through the Port of Tauranga and hear about how industry has shaped Tauranga to be the busiest port in New Zealand and see stunning views of the harbour and the surrounding city before heading south through the Mamaku Forest towards Rotorua.

5.00Great tour guide Lloydy! Saw soo much more than large group tours. Lake and Ocean view stops, kiwi farm tour and products, Redwood Forest, and the amazing Maori Culture Center with Kiwi bird station, geothermal areas, geyser, and native performances and song. This is not to be missed!

5.00Great day out in a small group with a friendly and enthusiastic guide. Nicholle made sure we all enjoyed the trip and added a couple of brief extra stops to show off places of interest. The Māori experience and the Geothermal site lived up to our expectations.

5.00The tour through the Mount Maunganui township and through the countryside to the Rotorua area was pleasant and informative. Te Puia was an excellent experience at a remarkable modern cultural centre. This included a traditional welcoming ceremony (well worth seeing), kiwi birds (ditto), traditional art production and guided walk through the adjacent active thermal area. Following that we saw some of the Rotorua area and made a stop at a redwood forest on the return journey to Tauranga. Overall a very worthwhile day out - our driver/guide was very knowledgeable and informative, the bus modern and comfortable, and we arrived back at Tauranga with plenty of time to walk the town area.
