Had a wonderful day with our tour guide from Wicked wanders. So polite and knowledge. Taking a smaller group trip vs an excursion through the cruise line is far better.

Wicked Tours is a very professional company. Communication was prompt and detailed. The meeting point at the port was very easy to find. Our guide, Nicholie, was very knowledgeable about the area. She is a proud Kiwi and has boundless energy. We enjoyed our trip to Rotorua, a city with deep Māori roots. On the commute, we stopped at a Kiwi Orchard where we saw the unique way to grow Kiwis. We also stopped at a Redwood forest where we learned the trees were imported from California. Once in Rotorua, we visited Te Puia, a Māori cultural center and home of several geothermal activities including mud pools and the famous Pohutu Geyser, the largest geyser in the southern hemisphere. We saw traditional Māori wood carving, weaving, and a cultural Haka performance. Kia Ora! Be healthy.

It's a full-day thing. Just a small group of 11 in a comfy van. Our driver and guide, Tracey (Loyddy), was super friendly, knew a ton, and gave us lots of info as we passed cool spots on the way to Rotorua.

Highly recommend this small group tour! Our guide, Nicole, was exceptional! She is a is a wealth of information on all things about New Zealand, and in particular the Tauranga, Mt. Maunganui, & Rotorua areas. Her passionate & thoughtful commentary while driving us around was extremely interesting & entertaining. And she answered everyone's questions willingly & thoroughly. The 3-hour stop at Te Puia Hot Springs was equally interesting & educational. From the Maori Welcome Ceremony, to the Arts & Crafts center, the geysers & the mud pits we thoroughly enjoyed our visit there. And the stop at the Redwood forest on the way back to town was a serene way to end the day. You can't go wrong booking this tour!

Hot thermal pools and guysers were an eye opening experience. As was the Maori songs and dances. Our tour guide Nicolle was very personable, friendly and knowledgeable. She had us back to the ship in plenty of time for our 5.15pm departure curfew. Excellent small group excursion 👍👍
