Begin in the preserved Nagamachi Samurai District, where samurai families once lived. Nomura Family Samurai House
On the Nomura Samurai House tour, we briefly introduce the history of the Nomura family, high-ranking samurai who served the Maeda clan. Inside the house, we explain how samurai lived and the values they respected, such as discipline and responsibility. We also explore the beautiful garden and its unique two-level pond, showing the harmony of design and function. Finally, we connect samurai culture to modern Japan, highlighting how their spirit still influences society today.
Kanazawa Castle
On the Kanazawa Castle tour, we introduce the history of the Maeda clan, one of the most powerful samurai families in Japan. As we walk through the castle grounds, we explain the defensive design, large stone walls, and wooden reconstruction of the castle buildings. Visitors learn how the castle functioned not only as a military fortress, but also as a political and cultural center. Finally, we connect the legacy of the Maeda family to the development of Kanazawa’s art, craftsmanship, and refined culture that can still be seen in the city today.

Momo was a great tour guide that gave us a lot of interesting facts about how samurai are part of Japanese culture, and the walk in the gradens was great! I really enjoyed the tour as a good starting point about learning about Kanazawa.

Aiko was fabulous! She was so passionate about Kanazawa and gave us so much information that we wouldn’t have found out on our own. It was great to have MoMo with us also to take photos and videos. We love Kanazawa - we will definitely be back.
