Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic

Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha.

Kandy Lake

Kandy Lake, otherwise called Kiri Muhuda or the Sea of Milk, is a fake lake in the core of the slope city of Kandy, Sri Lanka, worked in 1807 by King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe alongside the Temple of the Tooth. Royal Botanical Gardens

Dambulla

Gal Vihara

The Gal Vihara, also known as Gal Viharaya and originally as the Uttararama, is a rock temple of the Buddha situated in the ancient city of Polonnaruwa in North Central Province, Sri Lanka. It was fashioned in the 12th century by Parakramabahu

The Shiva Temple is the first temple you'll come across as you enter the old city of Polonnaruwa. The temple's walls are clad in a sort of stone that can only be found in Polonnaruwa. The god statues in this temple are in the Indian style, and the carved stones are thought to have been transported from India or created by Indian artists who visited Sri Lanka.

Lotus Pond

This location has a lag pond or bathing pool in the style of a blossoming lotus, with five conical rings of eight petals descending in steps from top to bottom. The stupa is one of the eight places of veneration situated in Anuradhapura which are places believed to have been visited by Buddha during his three visits to Sri Lanka.

The moonstone is one of the most widespread architectural characteristics in sri lanka.it is in the shape of the half moon and is found at base of the a short staircase the steps of which are flanked by two balustrades which terminate below with two enormous veritical stones.

Horton Plains National Park

Sita Temple

The Sita Amman Temple dedicated to Sita, the wife of Lord Rama, situated in the hills of Nuwara Eliya, is treated with enduring devotion by Hindus as it is considered to be the only such temple in the world. Nuwara Eliya

Nuwara Eliya, also known as the Garden City of Asia due to its hills, valleys, and waterfalls, is located at 6182 feet above sea level at the foot of Mount Pidurangala, Sri Lanka's highest peak.Sir Samuel Baker, the legendary explorer who discovered the Nile's source, discovered eliya in 1819. When Colombo was hot and humid, the colonial government would relocate to Nuwara Eliya for three months of the year: March, April, and May. Domestic and international tourists visit Nuwara Eliya to enjoy the pleasant climate, play golf, stroll through the park, admire the lush plantations, visit the Thehagala gardens, and travel around the world, ending at the Hotten Plains, which features a dramatic drop in elevation of several thousand feet.

Nine Arches Bridge

The Nine Arch Bridge in Ella is on the Demodara loop and spans 91 meters at a height of 24m. Behind the railway, a forest is booming and below, tea leaves are being cultivated. The unique part about this bridge is that it is built entirely from rocks, bricks, and cement with no use of steel or metals throughout the structure.

Bmich

The Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall is one of the foremost convention centers found on the island. Located in the Cinnamon Gardens region of Colombo, Bmich has over 16,000 square feet of floor space.Open to the public in the year 1998, this convention center is a gift from the people’s republic of China in memory of Sri Lanka’s late prime minister Solomon Ridgeway Dias Bandaranaike. The construction of this convention center was carried out as a joint project between Sri Lankan and Chinese workforce. Bmich is managed by the Bandaranaike National Memorial Foundation (BNMF).

Pettah

A bazaar with definite Middle Eastern flair, the Pettah is where Sri Lanka’s multi-culturalism is at its most pronounced. The bustling bazaar of pettah is one of the oldest districts in Colombo and one of the most interesting places to spend a few hours. It is the most ethnically mixed place in the country. The crowds in Pettah can become overwhelming during the morning and late-afternoon rush hours, but the streets are still thronged during most daylight hours.  Large religious buildings represent a plethora of faiths, while more earthly pursuits can be found in market stalls and shops selling seemingly everything.
