Tarangire National Park
Your Lappet Faced safari guide will pick you up from your accommodation after breakfast. This morning, you will drive to Tarangire National Park. The transit drive is approximately two and a half hours on good tarmac roads. The park is named after the Tarangire River which runs through it. This ‘river of warthogs’ is the only source of water for wildlife in the region during the dry season. The park is well known for its elephant families, which can often be seen congregating by the river. You may also see giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests. These animals are closely followed by a range of predators, including lions and leopards. There are more breeding species of birds found in Tarangire than anywhere else on the planet! The huge and ancient baobab trees can be seen here. Some of them are said to have lived for more than a thousand years. Lunch will be at a picnic site inside the park. After your game drive, you will transit to your accommodation in Karatu.

You will then transit through Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the Serengeti, entering the south of the park. The Serengeti is truly spectacular. It is famous for its vast open grasslands which allow for excellent sightings of wildlife. The Serengeti boasts an abundance of wildlife such as impalas, buffalos, crocodiles, and hippos. In addition to the iconic landscapes, you have a good chance of encountering predators and you may see lions, cheetahs and leopards. After your game drive, you will head towards your accommodation in time for dinner.

Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will wend your way through the Serengeti towards the Northern region, stopping off to experience more wonder on the way! While it boasts abundant wildlife, the Serengeti is best known for its annual Great Migration. Vast numbers of wildebeests, zebras and antelopes move in an annual pattern, constantly seeking fresh grazing. The migration can be found during any given month, you just need to know where to look! At this time of year, the migration is normally in the Northern Serengeti National Park. Your overnight stay will be a mid-range seasonal tented camp.

Serengeti National Park
The landscape is different in this part of the Serengeti and is made up of hills, riverine forests, plains and rocky outcrops. The immense Mara River cuts through this area, which provides the setting for the mind-blowing river crossing during your time here. During the river crossing, over two million wildebeests, and hundreds of thousands of zebras and antelopes attempt to cross the Mara River in search of grazing and water. While they undergo their greatest feat during the migration, Nile crocodiles do not make it any easier for them. On the other side, lions, hyenas, leopards and cheetahs can be found waiting with growling stomachs and high hopes!

This morning, you will gently wend your way back through the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Conservation Area, seeing more animals only the way. You should reach the crater by lunchtime. When you first see Ngorongoro Crater, it looks like a forgotten world. It is concealed by the steep volcanic walls and is a pristine wilderness including sweeping savannah, pockets of acacia woodland and glistening lakes and swamps. The Crater was created when a large volcano exploded and collapsed in on itself two to three million years ago. The drive down into the Crater is an adventure in itself and when you reach the Crater floor, you quickly find yourself amongst large numbers of wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, and more than 500 bird species. The Crater provides you with the best chance of seeing the endangered black rhinos, which can sometimes be spotted in the open grasslands. After an afternoon game drive, you will drive to your accommodation in Karatu.

Lake Manyara National Park
This morning, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Your final destination on this epic safari! Manyara is a small but diverse park 120km west of Arusha. Everything you’ll see here is on a different scale. It is both compact (this is one of the narrowest parks in Africa) and epic (the Great Rift Escarpment towers over Lake Manyara’s western boundary). The park’s namesake is a shallow, salt lake. It covers a large area of the park, flooding and drying with the seasons and is home to thousands of wading birds (including flamingos and over 500 other bird species). You may see baboons and elephants in the park’s thick evergreen forest, and watch for the tree-climbing lions that have become famous throughout Africa. You will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park. After your game drive, you will be dropped off at a place of your choosing Arusha, Kilimanjaro Airport or Arusha Airport. We hope you have enjoyed your adventure with Lappet Faced Safaris

Everything was great. Communication with Francisco/ lappet faced safaris was fast and uncomplicated, we got a really good prize and all went smoothly. Pick up at the airport was good, we got a very warm welcome. We were taken good care of before and during the Safari. It was very well planed and thought through but at the same time our Guide always found a way to make it the best possible experience for our group. We saw so many animals in this impressive landscape thanks to our skilled and sharpeyed guide. Also nice was that our Guide Gabriel could speak german and english, he has a good knowledge of the wildlife, nature and life in Tanzania, so we learned a lot and had really interesting conversations. And after experiencing so much during the day we could relax in the evenings and enjoy very delicious freshly cooked food, prepared by our cook. This Safari exceeded all my expectations. In the end I can say, it felt more like traveling with friends than just doing a safari tour and it was really sad to say good bye. It's safe to say I would love to come back!

With Lappet Faced Safaris we experienced 4 wonderful days of Safari, experiencing the Tarangire National Park, Serengeti and the Ngorongoro National Park. From the beginning to the end, everything was perfectly organized as was the selection of both the parks and the campsites. Our guide was phenomenal, had a huge knowledge about the country, the parks and the wildlife and we couldn't have wished for a warmer and more welcoming start to our time in Tanzania. Additionally he also speaks German perfectly, which made the days even more enjoyable for us. All in all, he was able to show us the most beautiful places, all the stunning wildlife we could only dream of and was a huge reason, why it was such a wonderful and unforgettable experience for all of us! I would totally recommend Lappet Faced Safaris any time to anyone and could not have wished for better people to make this wonderful experience possible! Thank you very much again for the unforgettable days!

As students with low budget we were not sure if we should really invest the money - retrospectively it was the best decision we could have made! We were warmly welcomed at the airport und felt so safe an well looked-after all the time we were extremely sad when we had to leave. All in all, there is not a single thing to criticize, everthing went smoothly and our expectations were exceeded. The food was fantastic (and a lot), and our guide tried really hard to show us the big five (which he managed thanks to his experience in finding the best spots and his sharp eyes). Our guide was very competent, fluent in german and very nice- we will definetely try to come back!

We had a wonderful time during our safari Tour with lappet faced safaris! We didn‘t know what to expect since this would be our first experience but our expectations weren‘t just fulfilled but exceeded! We were warmly welcomed by Fransisco and our Tour Guide Gabriel and were always looked after. When there was a Problem he could help us immediately and was very professional. The communication was very uncomplicated and he responded very quickly! Gabriel is an excellent and well experienced Guide. We were brought to the best Spots to see all the animlas, the beautiful landscape and some spectacular sunrises. He was incredible spotting the animals from very far distances so that we were very lucky to see all the Big five and many more! He is a good driver and we felt very safe during the whole time. He even speaks fluent german and knows all the German names of the animals which was great. We learned a lot about the wildlife, the Environment and the area. The food during our trip which was cooked by our friendly cook was also very delicious. We had an outstanding experience during our five days and it felt like saying goodbye to Friends when we were leaving. We will keep it in very good memory and hope to Return one day! Couldn’t recommend more!

It was one of the best trips ever! We flew to Zanzibar and chose Lappet, already in Tanzania. We had several criteria by which we chose a company for the safari tour. One is feedback. The second is cost. At Safari Bookings, Lappet Faced Safari had a perfect rating of 5. Although there were only five reviews as well, they were all extremely positive and positive. Second and main, for us tourists from Russia - price. We signed up with 4-6 companies that offer Safari tours, and received prices from them for an individual tour (we were looking for an individual, not a group). Of all the companies, the owner of Lappet gave us the lowest price + he sent all the information, sent a picture of the guide, the car, and was constantly in touch. The choice was obvious. The owner and our guide met us at the airport, helped us with our luggage, showed us the city, took us to the Maasai market, moved us into a nice (good by Arusha standards) house, where all the foreigners from the United States, Britain, France lived. In the morning we started our trip to Safari. The first day is Serengeti Park, a Maasai village in Ngoro Ngoro. Then overnight camping in the middle of the national park. The camp is good. The large tents have everything you need - sockets, a sofa, tables, a bed with a baldachin, a shower and a toilet. The funny thing is, when we slept the first night, a lion would be there screaming, and the next night something would be digging pumas. Breakfast and especially camping dinner is something incredible you can't imagine. The dishes, the food, the staff, it's like an expensive restaurant. Food and drink is at the top. The variety is enormous. Casual music playing. You get groomed, you get a chair when you sit down. And then you remember you're not in France, you're in Africa, in the middle of a huge field. And that's amazing! The second day was just the Serengeti, where we saw hippos, pink flamingos, a whole family of lions sitting in a tree walking next to our car; we saw crowds of zebras, antelopes, pumbs and some leopards, and two more dead hyenas. The third day is just the Ngoro Ngoro Caldera. There we also saw a lion, a zebra, a ghou, and near elephants and a rhino! All in all, the safari went 10 out of 10. Separately, I want to say that our guide was as attentive to us as possible. If we said we were hungry, we'd stop and have a picnic, if we said we wanted to use the toilet, the same guy would go to certain places immediately. In addition, the guide guarded us in the park, told us in detail about animals, terrain, tribes, settlements, accompanied us to the market, chased away traders and beggars, opened doors, carried bags and performed many other household tasks. On the way, we learned that our guide had experience - 15 years of trips to national parks. The guide also knows very well where the animals live and we drove very close to them. When talking to other tourists, we learned that not everyone managed to see rhinos or lions up close, and our guide knew where and when to go. By the way, before the start of each day the guide asked who we wanted to see and, based on that, drew up an itinerary for the day so that we would not miss anything. The trip was great because we got maximum attention, listened to us, and since the company started work recently - the employees tried to please us 100% to keep us satisfied and happy. That, I believe, is their advantage to date.
