Upper Antelope Canyon
Navajo Upper Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon in the American Southwest, on Navajo land east of Lechee, Arizona. Antelope Canyon was formed by the erosion of Navajo Sandstone due to flash flooding and other sub-aerial processes. Rainwater, especially during monsoon season, runs into the extensive basin above the slot canyon sections, picking up speed and sand as it rushes into the narrow passageways. Over time the passageways eroded away, deepening the corridors and smoothing hard edges to form characteristic "flowing" shapes.

We did the transportation tour which takes you to the canyon and then you get a guided tour. We originally booked the hiking tour which would have been a long hike plus the guided tour, but realized it would have been too much with the heat. They had room and allowed us to switch tours. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and showed us lots of camera tricks to bring out hidden images. It was a great tour!

The Hogan Hiking Antelope trip was a great experience for our family. The price is much cheaper than other trips to Upper Antelope Canyon, as participating in this group requires trekking to the canyon rather than transportation; given the current economic situation, this money-saving approach is perfectly acceptable to us. The local guide was very knowledgeable, after all he was born there. Overall, it was a fun experience.
