  • A trip around Turkey

    cathleen b,Oct 22, 2024

    - Review from Tripadvisor

    5.00

Agate Tours set up a private 19 day tour of Turkey. They included ruins of the ancients, underground cities, Roman castles, Fairy Chimneys, time to tour the inner Istanbul, and a balloon ride over Cappadocia. The guides made trip with their information and the small details and sites a large group doesn’t have time for. Drivers were safe and got us everywhere as scheduled by the guide. What a trip we had. Everyday was different and offered rest days. I highly recommend them. This is our 11th trip with them and planning more.

  • Amazing trip!

Make sure your WhatsApp is up and running (the main form of communication) and get ready for an unforgettable trip through ancient and modern Turkey. Each city was something new, guided by extremely knowledgeable guides and highly capable drivers. The hotel accommodations were always in the center of the historic district and always jewels. Okay, Kusadasi was not our best hotel experience as the whole town has a 24/7 party vibe but the view was fantastic and nearby Ephesus made up for lost sleep! The cave hotel in Cappadocia was epic. Thank you to Serkan and associates for a seamless and memorable journey.

  • Excellent trip to Turkey

Our trip to Turkey was extremely well planned and was seamless. Agate travel did a great job putting together a last-minute trip when our tour of Egypt was canceled. They were very prompt in responding to all emails and accommodating to make any tweaks that we had of the itinerary. We had excellent local guides and accommodations. We were dropped off at picked up on time at every transfer. Even when one of our flights was diverted because of weather, the company was involved every step of the way. I had such a good experience that am planning my next vacation to China with the company. Would recommend Agate without reservation.

Here is our review for the Istanbul portion as we are currently experiencing the rest of this itinerary. Nothing like arriving to Istanbul after a long international flight and have a private transfer waiting for you at the exit to take you to the hotel. Agate chose an excellent Hotel (Hotel Fer) which is centrally located in Istanbul old town and has excellent breakfast. We are very happy with the services of our private guide, Mehmet, who gave us a unique perspective on the historical sites visited. Thanks to his explanations, we understood well the Islamic rituals carried out during prayer at the mosques visited. We also got a very good understands of each site visited by his explanations. Mehmet also took us to try authentic Turkish cuisine as the restaurants we visited were not touristy at all, but places where the locals eat. Our drivers also did a great job I getting us to evening activities and airport transfer on time measuring well the local heavy traffic. Agate’s local travel partner is contacting us daily through WhatsApp to ensure all tours and transfers are proceeding smoothly. Thank you Agate Travel, Serkan, Mehmet, Mustafa, and the other drives for their excellent service. I highly recommend Agate Travel’s Turkey Tours. Will post review for the rest of the itinerary as we complete it.
