Enjoy cruising through the Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary searching for local dolphins, one of the only wild dolphin populations living within a city. Keep an eye out for some of the famous local residents and, during the warmer months, newborn calves!

What To Expect
Port Adelaide
Enjoy cruising the iconic Port River in Port Adelaide learning about the rich maritime history. You'll get to visit the Ships Graveyard where the remains of at least 40 abandoned vessels lie embedded in silt and partially hidden by mangroves in the backwaters of the Port River, in Adelaide's north west. The collection includes large and small sailing, steam and motor vessels, barges, pontoons and dredges.
Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary
The Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary is one of the gems of metropolitan Adelaide. Located only 20 minutes from Adelaide, this marine park is home to around 30 resident bottlenose dolphins, with another 400 transient dolphins that visit at various times. These wild dolphins come here to feed, play, socialise and nurse their calves.

5.00We had a fantastic time on the 90-minute Port River Dolphin & Ships Graveyard Cruise. A special thanks to Jim and Andrew for being such wonderful hosts — they explained everything clearly, kept us engaged, and even cracked a few jokes along the way. They made sure we got to see the dolphins up close as well as the fascinating ship graveyard, Seeing Dolphins so close happily foraging and playing was a delight for all of us including the kids and was the highlight. This cruise truly feels like one of the hidden gems of Adelaide Port. It’s well worth going — not only for the dolphins, but also for the relaxed and enjoyable 90-minute experience on the water. Highly recommended!
