Port Adelaide
Enjoy cruising the iconic Port River in Port Adelaide learning about the rich maritime history. You'll get to visit the Ships Graveyard where the remains of at least 40 abandoned vessels lie embedded in silt and partially hidden by mangroves in the backwaters of the Port River, in Adelaide's north west. The collection includes large and small sailing, steam and motor vessels, barges, pontoons and dredges.
Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary
The Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary is one of the gems of metropolitan Adelaide. Located only 20 minutes from Adelaide, this marine park is home to around 30 resident bottlenose dolphins, with another 400 transient dolphins that visit at various times. These wild dolphins come here to feed, play, socialise and nurse their calves.

We had a fabulous trip. Alex, our skipper and tour guide, was exceptionally knowledgeable and full of great information. We were lucky enough to see several dolphins and some great birds along the way. We ranged in age from 62 to 9 years, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the trip. I would highly recommend this company and this tour.

Got to see some dolphins and was interesting to learn about the boats in the graveyard. Majority of them originally came from UK and some from America

This is one of the best river tours anywhere. Excellent value for money. It was expertly crewed by very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Very interesting commentary. We were fortunate to see several dolphins, some of whom played around our boat. It was reassuring to to know the port is a sanctuary for dolphins and they are breeding here and free to return to the ocean anytime. A bird sanctuary borders the port - some travel from Siberia and the Ships Graveyard stories really bring the maritime history of this part of Australia to life.

It is a very slow river journey. In total, the entire river is home to just under a dozen dolphins, which you often don't even see. We were lucky to see 3 breathing from a long distance. The water was completely brown and you would hardly have seen them even if they had been right next to the boat. The rest of the trip was rather dreary with environmental sins of bygone times, cement plants and two gas power plants. The ship was fine and the guide was super entertaining and effortless.

The guide on the tour was great and made some modifications because due to speedboat race on the river, we were not able to do the shipwreck portion. He did some extra cruising and spent more time with dolphins.

It was pleasant. Unfortunately, did not see any dolphins. My main reason in going. Guide was easygoing and provided lots of interesting facts about Port Adelaide and the ship graveyard. It was beautiful weather so very pleasant out on the water. A different aspect of Adelaide.

I was so impressed with this tour! I went in not expecting much but couldn’t believe we actually saw dolphins! I loved that the tour was incredibly eco-conscious, not getting too close to the dolphins and letting them come towards us if they wanted and leaving when it was clear they were feeding so as not to disturb. There was also informative guides to the area as well.

This was a great tour to see wildlife and to hear the history of the port. Lived in South Australia for over 50 years and didn’t know about the ship graveyard.
