  My husband and I had an amazing experience on the Outer Reef Snorkeling tour with ABC Reef Safaris. The boat was beautiful & clean and the staff were friendly & knowledgeable. Such an intimate experience, with only 3 people in our snorkeling group and 14 guests total aboard. Not another boat was in site as we took in the natural beauty of the Great Barrier Reef. Thank you to Lizzie, Jay, & our wonderful reef guide Mabel! We will treasure these memories for a lifetime!

  From the very start, this Great Barrier Reef snorkel tour with ABC Reefs was exceptional. Pickup with Jay was seamless and set the tone for an stress-free, perfectly organized morning. The tour itself was small and personal, which made the experience feel intimate, yet the brand-new boat added a touch of luxury that made the day feel extra special. Every staff member on board was friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable, but our snorkel guide Mabel truly stole the show. As a marine biologist, her passion for the reef is unmistakable. She brought the underwater world to life with her expertise, enthusiasm, and genuine desire to help us appreciate just how special and fragile this ecosystem is. You could feel how much she loves what she does and that made the experience unforgettable. I would recommend this tour without hesitation to anyone visiting the area. It was the perfect blend of comfort, education, and awe-inspiring natural beauty. These are memories we’ll cherish for a lifetime.

  We had the best time with the team of Gallagher, Geoff, Zoe and Mabel for our day trip snorkeling! In choosing a trip for our limited time in the Great Barrier Reed, we wanted to make sure we had a small group, curated experience but with very reputable, known folks. Despite our hotel pushing the big boat options (calypso, sailaway etc), we opted for smaller tour not even knowing that ABC has a brand new, beautiful luxury 20m boat (capacity of 60). I want to say that ABC absolutely lives up to its 1000 reviews of 5 stars—on the day we went, there were only 11 guests (4 divers and 7 snorkelers) for a crew of 4 on such a big boat. I think other tour companies would have cancelled the trip —which would have totally screwed us given our tight timing. Instead, we were extraordinarily well taken care of, in spacious surroundings - both outdoors for those who wanted and a very large and comfortable air conditioned cabin, as large as a living room. We had such good care from extensive guidance and care from Mabel (a marine biologist) who led our snorkeling at both sites- she was so great/caring in every detail on not just what there was to see but most importantly, safety and comfort of all of us. The sites were amazing — sheer variety/depth/length/breadth of the reef and the multitude of wildlife is breathtaking— more than our experiences even in the Maldives, Costa Rica, Turks and Caicos and Indonesia. We saw multiple small sharks, rays, a turtle, blue starfish and so many fish including an anglerfish! It was spectacular and noticeably different between the sites. Lastly, I would note that even beforehand, they were super-communicative (a real pleasure when you are trying to book a trip last minute from New York)—Lizzie was so great in this regard, making things so easy and straightforward for us. All in all, a great experience and so glad we went with ABC!

  Excellent trip to the Great Barrier Reef for diving with ABC Reef Safaris. The boat was luxurious and spotless, the food was delicious and most of all the diver master ,Zoe, knew her stuff and led us on 2 wonderful dives through a perfect garden of corals and fish. Highly recommended.

  This was the best part of my Australian vacation so far we loved are day so much we seen sharks lots of fish including Nemo and the boat and food was great and the crew was so nice and really told us alot about the different kinds of fish and coral we seen me and my sister loved are diver instructor that stayed with us and my 10 year old got to hold a jellyfish she had the best day and if we are ever back in port Douglas we would book this all over again

  

  

  

  

  

  

• Amazing Snorkeling Experience

  This excursion was probably one of our top 5 ever. If we could, we would give it 6 stars. It was so good!! The crew was very knowledgeable. We were split into 3 groups of 5 and each group had a guide with us. We were worried they wouldn’t let us do what we wanted but that was not the case. The guides were so good. Our guide would dive down to point things out to us. We could tell she loves her job and loves showing the beauties of the Reef. The water was a little rough and the current kept pulling us, but our guide helped us keep on tract. The lunch was delicious. They were able to accommodate all levels of snorkelers. The equipment was good quality. We would recommend this snorkeling tour in the Great Barrier Reef to anyone. You won’t be disappointed.

  We had a really great day with ABC Reef Safaris. We got our scuba diving itch scratched but also we were able to enjoy some snorkelling with our son. And enjoy the beauty that is the great barrier reef which is awesome. The boat was gorgeous and very comfortable. The food was great. The staff were lovely. The equipment was really good quality. We can not fault a thing. It was a fabulous day!

  ABC Reef Safaris provided a world class experience from start to finish. A prompt hotel pickup, crew welcome and introduction to their spacious new boat with many comfortable inside and outside seating options, a wonderful overview of the day’s itinerary, a team of marine biologists to explain the GBR reef and sea life we were likely to encounter, top notch suits and snorkeling equipment and delicious fresh mornings snacks and lunch. All made for a perfect day…with Mother Nature providing blue skies and calm seas. Our trip’s 15 passengers were divided into three snorkeling groups and we were fortunate to be paired with Zoe, one of their marine biologists who was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Our first snorkeling session was on Chinaman Reef at the Turtle Block…where we saw spectacular reef formations, many colorful fish, a white-tipped reef shark and four Green Sea Turtles. We were lucky enough to be able to watch one surface, breathe and swim for quite a ways. After a delicious lunch, our second snorkeling session was across the reef at Thunderdome. This area had coral formations and fish that were noticeably larger in size…and we saw a lobster tucked back into a crevice, a resting cuttlefish and a huge pineapple sea cucumber. Zoe showed us things we never would have noticed on our own, often diving down to point something out and took time to explain them to those close by…all while keeping an eye on the group to make sure nobody strayed too far. ABC Reef Safaris made our once-in-a-lifetime trip to the GBR a fantastic experience! Hats off to Captain Gallagher, Nico, Marie, Mabel and Zoe.

  An amazing tour of the Great Barrier Reef. The boat was brand new and very comfortable. All the crew were very helpful and friendly. Our guide, Zoe, a marine biologist, was very knowledgeable and passionate. The food on the boat was excellent. We went to two reefs with no other tours and the reefs were stunning with beautiful coral. We saw reef sharks, green sea turtles, lobster, cuttlefish, and many other reef fish. Overall an excellent day. Thank you!
