  I just completed an incredible volcano hike tour to Fuego in Antigua Guatemala with CA Travelers, and it was hands-down one of the best group travel experiences I’ve had. Led by the amazing Tony, this trip combined perfect organization, genuine flexibility, and a warm group vibe that made everything special. Tony was an outstanding tour leader, she kept everything running smoothly while making sure everyone felt supported and included. What I loved most about CA Travelers is that they’re not just another tour company; they’re on a mission for a good cause, which made the entire experience even more meaningful. The schedule was well-organized with clear plans each day, but they stayed flexible when it mattered. While other groups like OX Expedition stuck to a strict timetable and missed the magic, our CA Travelers group waited out the rain, fog, and clouds before heading out. The result? We timed it perfectly and witnessed the volcano exploding in full view with clear skies! The OX Expedition hikers were heading back to their camp were visibly and verbally jealous seeing us going to incredible eruption they missed. Moments like that made the trip unforgettable. Evenings were just as great. Tony brought cards so our group could play fun games before dinner which was thoughtful. The local tour leaders were incredibly kind and hardworking, they prepared amazing food and set up a fire pit that became our spot to relax. CA Travelers strikes the ideal balance: structured enough to keep things on track, but flexible enough to adapt to nature and create the best memories. If you’re looking for an Antigua Guatemala tour that includes volcano hikes, authentic experiences, and a caring team, I highly recommend CA Travelers and Tony.   We had an amazing experience hiking Acatenango with CA Travelers! Everything was very well organized from start to finish. Marvin, along with all of the local guides and porters, were incredibly helpful throughout the entire hike — always providing clear instructions, support, and making sure we had everything we needed along the way. The food provided was great, and the housing accommodations were phenomenal — it honestly felt like glamping while being surrounded by incredible volcano views. The setup made the experience much more comfortable and enjoyable after a long hike. They had sold out of the backpacks we needed to rent, but they quickly helped us find a rental shop in town that was easy to get to and pickup from, which we really appreciated. I also really appreciated learning that the money paid to the porters goes directly toward supporting them, their families, and the local communities. It made the experience feel even more meaningful knowing tourism is helping provide opportunities locally. Overall, everything went very smoothly, and seeing an active volcano up close was truly the experience of a lifetime. Highly recommend CA Travelers for anyone planning this hike in Guatemala!

  I can’t say enough good things about CA Travelers and their team. They are well organized, friendly, and patient when it comes to people that needed more time on the way up. They provide everything you need. Fuego didn’t clear of clouds until 9:30 pm but once it did, they didn’t hesitate to take us up. I can’t tell you how special that was. There was other companies that didn’t wait, and they couldn’t see anything. I will say that you’ll be carrying your own food so when they say bring a 40L pack, they mean it.   I want to start first by thanking Leo for providing an overview of the hike and helping us get to Acatenango while giving us a nice history overview of Guatemala. I had a really hard time hiking up but I am so grateful that we had Lorena, Wilson, Gerson and other porters too, I sincerely couldn’t have done it without them. HUGE HUGE shoutout to Lorena, I was the slowest in my group but she was so patient and caring and so were Wilson and Gerson. Acatenango was not easy but having Lorena by my side truly made a difference, thank you thank you and thank you ❤️. I had David as my porter and he was truly a champ, I truly admire his positivity despite the steep hill he constantly kept a smile on too thank you thank you thank you David!! Cabins were pretty nice, and the group was wholesome. Despite the hardship there were wonderful memories!!

  The experience was incredible. Super well organized, the food was 10 out of 10, and the schedules were on time. The guides, who helped with the luggage, and the agency were all excellent. Seriously recommended all the way. The climb is difficult, yes, difficult.

  This company is so impressive and well structured. The overnight hike was an experience that I will never forget and a huge reason is CA Travelers. The group we were randomly placed was amazing and the structure of the rentals, shuttle, guides and porters was so effortless for me. Pablo and Leo were both great managers and spoke fluent English which was a huge help. I also, used them for my shuttle service to airport which was at 2:30 AM and the private transport was there at 2:25.   The hiking to the volcano is challenging, but worthy, beautiful views. The company provided a lunch box with lunch, dinner, and breakfast for the following morning, which hikers had to carry the entire way up the mountain. For such a physically demanding hike, I did not feel this was the safest or most practical food option. We were also instructed to bring 4 liters of water, which was provided in camel-style water bags that did not appear very clean or sanitary. In addition, we had to pay extra for porters to carry the water up the mountain. The bathrooms at base camp were also in very poor condition, which made the overall experience less comfortable than expected. Unfortunately, several members of our group became sick with diarrhea and vomiting afterward, which negatively affected the remainder of our stay in Guatemala. I would strongly recommend using bottled water instead, and I would encourage the company to invest in better bathroom facilities and accommodations at base camp. These improvements would make the experience much safer, more comfortable, and more memorable for future hikers.
