Latchi Dive Centre goes the extra mile, confined dives are mainly done in the famous Blue Lagoon. Our dives are normally done by boat (weather dependent). Most centres will do confined in a pool & open water dives by shore.
We are very lucky to have the unspoiled Akamas National Park coastline on our doorstep, giving you the opportunity to take in the picturesque views both above & under the water.
The majority of the year we have visibility of 30-40 metres!

What To Expect
Our PADI OPEN WATER DIVER COURSE is run over 3 days. Day 1 - Equipment Set up and Confined Water Training: Meet your instructor and complete a small amount of paperwork before heading to the dive centre to learn about the equipment. Then you will practice a variety of scuba diving diving skills in a confined water environment (either a pool or a calm shallow bay). Day 2 - Open Water dives 1 and 2: Diving from the shore! Time to apply the skills you have learnt into an open water environment, take in the underwater scenery & have fun. Day 3- Open Water Dives 3 & 4: Explore our dive sites along the beautiful Akamas coastline by boat! Complete the last of your skills and dive to a maximum of 18 metres. The approximate timings for each day are 8:30am - 2pm. You will be sent the e-manual before your course starts, giving you the opportunity to run through the theory in the comfort of your home before joining us!

5.00For years I have been pushing the PADI Open Water course in front of me. Now I finally wanted to do it on my Cyprus holiday... For this purpose, I have previously selected a suitable "dive center" near my apartment on the Internet. Contacting us via email was straightforward and the response times were short. In order not to require too much time on site for the course, I decided to use the "e-learning" offered by PADI. The Dive Center emailed me the corresponding PADI link after a deposit. This allowed me to start the course immediately on site with a successful theory. My "Instructor" was Seamus, a great guy from Ireland. We hit it off immediately and had a lot of fun together, even if my English was not perfect. But so I got a free "English course" to the diving course, just perfect! The great luck of having your own instructor just for me and also the perfect weather conditions made the course an unforgettable experience! In this way, thanks again to my great Instructor Seamus! But the thanks also go to the entire team. Everyone is very nice, very open and helpful. You felt right at home in the quite large team. The professionalism of this center gives you absolute security. I didn't have a moment's concern or fear. Of course, you have to do a lot of paperwork, but the team just has to make sure everything is running correctly, from health records to a repetition of the most important exam questions. Only then can it really start.... The center has great and sufficient equipment. Everything looks very well maintained and tested. After passing the "Open Water Diver" I completed several more dives, now as a certified diver, with my instructor Seamus. That was a nice conclusion. From my side absolute recommendation for all who value professionalism and safety.

5.00I knew after a Try Scuba Dive back in 2021 I wanted to come back to Cyprus to achieve my PADI Open Water Certificate. I went to Latchi Watersports as they were highly recommended by friends and family. I wasn't feel too well on my first day, Latchi were more then happy to move to another date. I went back for the 2nd time and over the next 3 days I achieved my certification. My instructor Mike was very good and patient. There was no sense of rush and all was taken place at my own pace. I have loved every minute on this course and achieved going down to 18 metres. I also completed my Enriched Nitrox course too. The waters around Latchi are so lovely and clear. If anyone has any doubt or unsure about Scuba Diving, I highly recommend it. After doing my 4 Open Water Dives for my course, I have then since gone on and completed 2 more Open Dives as a certified Diver. I can't wait for more dives in the future. A big thank you to Mike, Sam, Holly, Tom and all of the team who has been so welcoming and encouraging me. Thank you and will certainly be coming back to Latchi Watersports for more dives and courses in the future.
