The Theatre of Dionysus is an ancient Greek theatre in Athens. It is built on the south slope of the Acropolis hill, originally part of the sanctuary of Dionysus Eleuthereus. The first orchestra terrace was constructed on the site around the mid- to late-sixth century BC, where it hosted the City Dionysia.

Very impressive tour.If you go to Athens, don’t miss Acropolis. This tour quite expensive, but finally it’s worth the cost. The meeting point is near Acropolis, easy to find. The guide,Afroditi Gianni is knowledgeable. She guided how to walk around Acropolis, not so tired.Everything is interesting. After Acropolis’s walk tour ,we went to museum. And also she described the history of Greek without boring.

Learned quite a bit of history and went to the important Acropolis sites. When we arrived at the museum, it was realized that my spouse and I were given our Acropolis tickets, but not the museum ones. It took a little time, but Lidia contacted the office and they were sent over. The tour was just a little over 4 hours, so definitely bring a snack, water, and take advantage of the bathroom and sitting breaks. You can eat a meal at the museum. The group was about 12 and Lidia did a good job of communicating all the information. You could stay in the museum after the tour was over, but I would have enjoyed a little less guided time outside and more guide info in the museum. Maybe 15 minutes or so. At the beginning they should make sure that every person has all the entry tickets before leaving, as to avoid any situations later. Worth the time and money. Would recommend.

Our tour guide, Artemis, was knowledgeable and personable. She also allowed time to sit and talk on our climb up, which was a nice break. Actually the climb was not too arduous; I am 70 and my husband is 85, and we didn't have a problem with it.

Worth it for the price! We met early and beat the rush up to the acropolis. I thought the walk up would be more strenuous than it was, but I am somewhat out of shape and it was fine. We stopped often to take pictures and listen to our guide. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and a professor of archaeology. We joined her for the museum tour afterward, which was another 30-45 minutes learning about the artifacts from the acropolis. We were free to explore the museum on our own at the end of the tour and had a nice lunch in the cafe. It was a must-do tour for our trip to Athens!
