Athens
The capital Of Greece
The Theatre of Dionysus is an ancient Greek theatre in Athens. It is built on the south slope of the Acropolis hill, originally part of the sanctuary of Dionysus Eleuthereus. The first orchestra terrace was constructed on the site around the mid- to late-sixth century BC, where it hosted the City Dionysia.

Great tour with a lot of information ever before reaching the summit of the acropolis. Our guide, Alexia Kolia, was super friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, having a degree in archeology. The climb up is not easy but she made the whole experience very enjoyable.

Fantastic tour! John the Archaeologist did a super job of bringing the past to life. He showed great concern for our safety on the steps. Thank you, John!

Everything was very organized at the meeting spot. We wasted time stopping for people to buy waters and go to the washroom (they are grown ups, they should have done that already). Lydia (tour guide) provided a lot of information but we felt like it was rushed. All the information was given at ground level so by the time we got up to the top, she didn’t tell us anything else and basically just took our pictures and then headed to museum. We didn’t purchase that and we are glad we didn’t. We stayed at the top and toured on our own. We saw a lot more and spent at least another 30-45 minutes up there. I would recommend people just get the audio tour. I don’t feel it was worth the money.

Our tour ended up running from 11:00am until 3:45pm. It was clear our tour guide loves what she does and she gave us the full tour of all of the locations. I added the museum admission and the excavation and it was well worth it! Even though the first part of our trip was rainy, I would still definitely recommend.
