The Theatre of Dionysus is an ancient Greek theatre in Athens. It is built on the south slope of the Acropolis hill, originally part of the sanctuary of Dionysus Eleuthereus. This tour is well organized and highly recommended. The meeting place is close to the Acropolis. While you can do the tour on your own, hiring a guide allows you to skip the lines and benefit from the expert commentary provided by your guide. The optional Acropolis museum tour was worthwhile too.

The Acropolis, Parthenon and Acropolis Museum tour was great. Our tour guide Alexsia was very knowledgeable and made Greek history come to life..She kept the group engaged and wanting more. She not only shared the history and significant facts , but also included storytelling and myths. Her knowledge of the monuments and the peoples that lived and governed in Athens during its time was so very interesting. I felt very privileged to have been part of Alexis’s, tour group and highly recommend her. It is always a great experience when you have a guide or teacher that truly loves to share what they do and pass it on to others. I walked away with so much new knowledge about the Acropolis. Thank you, Alexis.

Loved this tour, we did the Acropolis and the Museum, our guide was Juliana (I think, sorry, she had blonde hair!) and she was really knowledgeable and made the tour very interesting. It is a lot of walking, but it was broken up with lots of information.
