My husband and I had a wonderful time with Alex and Atsede! They were punctual, Atsede was a very safe driver, and Alex was incredibly knowledgeable. It’s a long day and you see a ton, with options to customize along the way. The absolute highlights were the Mercato (tho it was a bit stressful in the moment because it’s crowded and so different but truly a must-see!), the traditional lunch, coffee at multiple stops from in the Mercato to a traditional coffee service to a modern cafe, and, of course, the national museum. Seeing Lucy was a lifelong dream and I didn’t appreciate how much more there would be to see in such a small museum.

What can I say? The tour was beyond amazing, and Alex was an incredible source of knowledge. He is the most knowledgeable tour guide I have ever been on a tour with. He was engaging, friendly, and just a joy to be an around. Talk about a man that knows his country and its wealth of information. I have learnt so much and really enjoyed every bit of the tour. All the sites we visited were incredible and it was the best way to see and get an orientation about Addis. Every runs on time and it was an all day affair, and to be fair, you didnt even notice the time, thats wonderful Alex was. Many thanks to this company, and Alex. I would definitely recommend you book here, you won't be disappointed.

A very cool, authentic tour of Addis- all possible due to Kirubel and his helpful driver. We spent 8 hours travelling through the city, from the Orthodox churches, prehistoric museums and witnessing coffee ceromonies including tradtional Ethiopian lunch. These two defintely know hidden gems, which may not be obvious to an average tourist ;) I highly recommend!

  • From Ancient History to Market Hustle: An Authentic Day in Addis!

After the bustling first impression of Ethiopia, this city tour was exactly what I needed to truly connect with the heart of Addis Ababa. It was the perfect blend of deep historical insights, vibrant market culture, and peaceful moments overlooking the city. The logistics were handled perfectly by Atse's brother, who navigated the notorious Addis traffic with incredible calm and skill. You feel completely secure and relaxed, allowing you to focus entirely on the surroundings. As with any great tour, it’s the people who make the difference. Our team was top-notch: The guide, Kiru, provided an excellent historical framework for everything we saw. Rather than just reciting dates, he offered deep insights into Ethiopia's complex heritage, from its early archaeological significance to the imperial era. He has a great sense of narrative, making the transitions between different historical periods feel seamless and engaging. Highlights of the Day: Visiting the National Museum seeing Lucy, Mount Entoto: The view over the sprawling metropolis from the eucalyptus-covered hills is spectacular. It's a great spot to understand the city's geographical and historical expansion. The Mercato Experience: Exploring Africa’s largest open-air market was a fascinating adventure. Kiru guided me through the maze-like sections with ease, showing us the most authentic corners of local trade. A Musical Discovery: A personal highlight was Kiru introducing me to the world of Ethio-Jazz. As someone who appreciates cultural history, I was absolutely captivated by the unique fusion of traditional sounds and modern jazz. It added a whole new dimension to my understanding of Addis’s vibrant intellectual and artistic scene. Recommendation: If you want to do more than just see Addis—if you want to actually understand its layers—this is the trip for you. Thanks to the expert driving and Kiru’s scholarly yet engaging approach, the day was full of genuine discovery. Great value for money for such a personal and insightful experience.

Alex (guide) and Mulugeta (driver) were fantastic! My wife and I had one full day to tour the city and we were not disappointed. Alex is a fountain of knowledge and Mulugeta an excellent driver. Every detail was planned well and Alex made sure to ask us us if we had any special places we wished to see. The open air market and coffee ceremony were the highlights of the tour. You must work with this tour group. You will not be disappointed!

Hey there. Yes. It was great thanks. Great English, great knowledge, asked up front if there were things I was particularly interested in, sensitive to the areas I wanted to spend more time.

  • Highlight of our trip

We had a wonderful trip to Ethiopia and genuinely enjoyed every part of it. Trying authentic injera and local Ethiopian dishes was a highlight for us. The food was rich, flavorful, and completely different from anything we’ve had before. We also visited several very nice restaurants with great atmosphere and quality. Walking through Merkato the largest open-air market in Africa was an experience on its own. It’s busy and full of energy, but incredibly interesting. We also visited the Portuguese Bridge and enjoyed the scenery and history around it. What made the trip especially smooth was our guide, Alex. He made sure we were comfortable and safe at all times. In certain areas, he even arranged two bodyguards to accompany us, which gave us extra peace of mind. Everything was well organized and stress-free. Alex speaks Arabic, English, and Amharic fluently, which made communication easy and added a lot to our understanding of the country. We highly recommend Ethiopia, and we strongly recommend Alex as a guide. He truly made the experience better.
