Highly recommend this half-day tour. Great commentary by Bruce along the way about Mt Lofty, Hahndorf and the early settlers. The Adelaide Hills are spectacular. Thanks for a great experience.

I absolutely loved this half-day tour to Hahndorf and it turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences of my time in South Australia. From the moment we arrived, I was completely charmed by the beauty, history, and atmosphere of this incredible little German town. Every street seemed to tell a story, and everywhere you looked there were beautiful little nooks, unique shops, welcoming cafés, and so many hidden treasures waiting to be discovered. What truly made this tour so special though was our wonderful guide. Their knowledge, passion, and commentary throughout the journey were exceptional. I learned so much not only about Hahndorf itself, but also about the surrounding Adelaide Hills region and the rich history behind the area. You could really feel how much pride and love they had for sharing these places with us, and it made the entire experience far more meaningful and personal. I also have to admit that booking this tour on Mother’s Day was probably not my smartest planning decision, as Hahndorf was incredibly busy with visitors and families celebrating the occasion. At first I worried that the crowds might take away from the experience, but thanks to the professionalism and expertise of our guide, everything was handled so smoothly. They knew exactly where to take us for refreshments and a much-needed comfort stop, ensuring we still had a relaxing and enjoyable experience despite the busy atmosphere. I was genuinely so grateful for their organisation and calm approach. Even with the crowds, there was still plenty of time to wander, explore, and soak up the magic of the town at our own pace. I loved simply strolling through the streets, admiring the charming old buildings, discovering little corners filled with history and character, and enjoying the warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes Hahndorf so unique. It felt like stepping into another world while still learning so much about the culture and history of both Hahndorf and Adelaide. This tour left me with such lovely memories and a genuine appreciation for the Adelaide Hills region. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting South Australia, especially if you enjoy history, culture, beautiful scenery, and passionate local guides who truly care about creating a memorable experience for their guests. It was heartfelt, educational, relaxing, and simply unforgettable.

This was a fun way to spend an afternoon and our driver Peter was an absolute delight. Great views from Mt Lofty, a quick stop at the Beerenberg factory where you can buy jams or sources (do try the strawberry icecream) and then you get to spend some time in Hahndorf. Afternoon tea is included so you get coffee and cake (not strudel, sorry, but the cheesecake is very nice too) in a German themed pub. Do this first to get it out of the way and then explore Hahndorf. Lots of cute shops and cafes, with the German theme strong in most. It was fun and a cute town to visit, but it was Peter who really made this special with his fun and informative anecdotes. If you've never been to the Adelaide Hills before, this is a pretty fun way to do it.

Informative, enjoyable & unrushed 4hr minibus tour. Our lovely driver made us all very welcome from the very outset. Nothing was too much trouble. Stunning far reaching views from Mt Lofty (obviously at high altitude bring extra layer) Autumnal colours driving through hills & small towns. Try the freeze dried strawberries dipped in chocolate at Beerenberg - worth every cent! Hahndorf more German than Germany! Shops galore, bars, bakeries, artwork & museum - something for everyone! I even found a superb jazz band! Afternoon tea/coffee & cake (or beers) a delightful bonus! A perfect day out!

As we approached Hahndorf our driver explained that a number of shops either close early or don’t open at all on a Tuesday. He was not wrong! About 50% were closed by 3pm when we arrived. Consequently we wandered up and down the High Street aimlessly for half an hour. The beer tasting at the Hahndorf Inn amounted to 4 very average beers served to us by disinterested staff with no explanation as to the brewing processes etc. The visit to the “jam shop” before Hahndorf was an unapologetic selling opportunity. The views from the summit on leaving Adelaide were ok but not outstanding. Not a trip I can recommend…
