What To Expect

Mount Lofty Summit

Look over Adelaide City and the panoramic views. This area was discovered by Mathew Flinders in 1802. Weather permitting as can be very cold and fogged in.

Drive past Thorngrove Manor. Built to look like a baroque castle, this lavish, high-concept hotel is 1.5 km from the Mount Lofty Botanical Gardens and 9 km from the 835-hectare Belair National Park.

Extremely professionally run, from the moment we were picked up the day went seamless. Very knowledgable host, it was obvious his love for the state and the tour he runs. Very funny guy as well. The bus was modern and well looked after. The trip along the river was very relaxing and lunch was great. Overall a great day. A tour not to be missed.

Karen was very informative and helpful with this tour from CP Tours and Charters. The only downside was the weather as it hindered views of the city from Mount Lofty and the lunch on the Murray River Cruise, meant we had to stay docked at the pier. Overall it was an enjoyable day and I would recommend people give it a go. We had extra time in Hahndorf to wander around and check out all the amazinv shops.

The driver (Graham) was very professional and friendly and went out of his way to accommodate us. Disappointed with initial organisation as we wanted a small tour but this was changed 12 hours before and two tours booked together and were unable to be picked up from our hotel when previously advised that they would so unable to cancel at late notice

We were picked up at our hotel by a very friendly driver, Karen, who looked after us all day. The ride there and back was great, especially our stop over at Hahndorf. The boat ride was very relaxing with an informative commentary along the way. Lunch was great and the company around the table jovial.

Unfortunately, the weather was not the best the day we went, views were foggy, the River Murray Cruise was restricted to tied up at the wharf as the River was too dangerous. The guide was very good. The small bus was not very comfortable to travel in - very little leg room. Also the meal was nothing special.
