What To Expect
Mount Lofty Summit
Look over Adelaide City and the panoramic views. This area was discovered by Mathew Flinders in 1802. Weather permitting as can be very cold and fogged in.
Drive past Thorngrove Manor. Built to look like a baroque castle, this lavish, high-concept hotel is 1.5 km from the Mount Lofty Botanical Gardens and 9 km from the 835-hectare Belair National Park.

3.00View from Mt. Lofty provides a sense of Adelaide layout, but not spectacular. River boat is tired and due for retrofit. Many river views obscured by trees along riverbank. Lunch was good and plentiful. Hahndorf typical small tourist trap. Karen our guide was informative but an impatient driver.

4.00Pleasant easy paced day trip which gives you a sense of the town and countryside around. Guide on coach was great. The guide on the boat was very knowledgeable but talked too much.

3.00Mount Lofty was an amazing site with incredible views. The Captain Proud cruise was quite disappointing. The vehicle requires EXTENSIVE repair. Very old and tired and surprised it passed tourist standards. Food was lovely and staff were very attentive and hospitable, but the facilities were very poor. The toilet seat in the ladies toilet wasn't even attached! Scenery was quite boring on this stretch of the river. We would have preferred longer in Hahndorf and strawberry farm. Our driver, Karen, was great, patient and very efficient.

5.00This was an amazing day. The bus driver was so knowledgeable and adapted information along the way to the guests on board. Was not just a drive to the paddle boat it was informative and picturesque. The cruise itself was relaxing with great staff on board. The food was quality, fresh and hot. Good options to choose from. Would highly recommend this day out to anyone
