During the tour, your guide will take photos of you, which will be available for free in web-sized resolution after the tour.

This was a wonderful Tour! Bart was genuinely passionate about Aurora and super ambitious to make this a successful and memorable experience! From the information provided, his professional photography skills and advice, to making sure we are all warm, fed and happy he went above and beyond to meet our expectations! Thank you BART for this great trip and I can’t wait to see the pictures 🤩

Evening, our guide, was definitely very passionate about his job and showing us the light. He took great photos and explained everything really well. The soup was very good! Highly recommend. Have a light dinner before you go.

Absolutely amazing!! Bart was very knowledgable & passionate about the Aurora. What an extremely special night!! We shared it with 2 other couples & a single person. We were driven to Finland (3 hours from Tromso) & got to see a spectacular display, standing on a frozen lake covered with knee deep powdery snow & surrounded by mountains & trees. Such a magical experience...... Thank you.

A fabulous experience. Bart took us (at speed!) to Finland to see the Aurora. The weather in Tromso had been terrible and the efforts made to get us to Finland in time for clear skies was exemplary. A great night viewing, from a frozen lake, knee deep in soft snow. Truly memorable, is so many ways. Thank you Bart!

We went with Wandering Owl twice in one week. The first time, we had a great experience and viewed some great aurora lights over several hours about a one hour drive southeast of Tromso. So good that we considered cancelling the second reservation for several days later. But we decided to stick with it and boy did we get rewarded for that decision. The second time out, we went west across a couple of bridges to a large island, then pulled off the road by a lake. The moon was low in the sky shining off the lake for the perfect set up. Then the light show began. Stupendous!! It was like someone had a giant neon paintbrush and kept drawing over and over again in all shapes from sharp bands to circles to curtains and swirls. Some of the shapes were moving rapidly right before our eyes, bringing an audible gasp from everyone in attendance. We were incredibly moved by what in my opinion was the single most memorable nature experience of my life. Our guide Bart worked like a dog to give us a great experience, helping us into our thermal suits, setting up the fire, serving soup and drinks, and racing around setting up his camera (he is a camera buff) to catch the latest spectral configurations. Truly magical! Wandering Owl has a great vibe and a personal touch. They were recommended by our son and did not disappoint.

Ellie was a great guide AND impressive driver. Navigating a snow blizzard and chasing clear skies all the way into Finland. Really appreciated the safe approach and efforts to make our experience comfortable! And of course to see the Northern Lights 💚

It is my second time trip to watch the Aurora, first time 9 years ago. On both trips I used Wandering Owl to "hunt" the Aurora, on this trip I used them 3 times. I am very pleased with the attitude and the results. Wandering Owl can not guaranty Aurora but they definitely do whatever it takes to get you to a clear sky area. On 14.2.2026 I took the trip with Bart. It was a small group (7 guests) that Bart handled by himself. Bart was completely dedicated to find the clear sky area. With the bad weather we had this resulted in arriving to Finland boarder. It paid off. we had a nice Aurora for all our stay and we also had an aurora storm for that was absolutely fantastic. Bart operated incredibly well, taking care of everything, paying attention to every guest like he is the only guest, all this in a freezing weather, not an easy task. Thank you Bart for being so attentive and decisive!

Would give it more than 5 stars if I could. The experience was MAGICAL! We booked this tour specifically because they advertised that they would chase the lights. However, we were worried because when we landed in Tromsø it was snowing nonstop and according to the Aurora App the chances of northern lights activity were very low. We stayed in Tromsø 4 days but our tour was on the 2nd day. The pick up went really smoothly and stress-free. I liked that our guides (Bart and Michael) really cared about the quality of our experience. They even planned our sitting in the van according to our sizes that way we were all comfortable. The guides were well equipped, knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Bart always helped us with the camera settings so that we could get the best out of it. But the best was that we didn’t have to worry about taking pictures because Bart was capturing every moment for us. We could just relax and enjoy the moment. His pictures were amazing. The bonfire was a nice touch and the soup was delicious. All in all I can describe this specific team as someone who really cares about the experience. And chasing the lights is not advertising, they really drive around to find the best spot and make sure that it is not full of tourists. We’re recommending them to our friends and family and are planning on coming back.

Firstly, a PSA for Bart - don't forget your passport! There is an element of luck in seeing the Aurora, but it counts for nothing if you are in the wrong place. That's where Bart comes in. We had the most incredible few hours watching the aurora dance across the sky. Not only is he knowledgeable and experienced, he will go to great lengths (aka Finland, hence the passport!) to give you the best opportunity to experience the lights. As well as finding a cloudless area, he also put a lot of effort into taking great photos for us. I recommend choosing the longer tour option that gives you time to get further out of the city, because it doesn't matter how strong the Aurora is if you can't see through the cloud!

Long drive, but our guide Bart did not give up. The aurora was not particularly strong, but it was awesome to experience it.
