The after dark feeding tour is an experience that is unique to Devils@Cradle. This tour provides an unforgettable experience, and the opportunity to observe these extraordinary animals whilst one of our keepers gives you a greater understanding of them, and details the conservation work being undertaken within the facility. Devils and quolls are primarily nocturnal species, therefore are far more active at night, and the introduction of food generally stimulates some fierce competition between them. We use environmentally sensitive lighting and focus on the social interactions and feeding habits of these unique carnivores, allowing visitors a rare up close opportunity of seeing Tasmanian devils in a group feeding situation - quite a spectacular sight!

Guests are able to arrive prior to the tour start time and self-guide within the sanctuary until the commencement of the tour. The after dark feeding tour begins with a brief introduction to the three species managed within the sanctuary on our main viewing deck. Followed by the larger part of the tour, involving a guided walk outside, within the sanctuary itself. The tour guide will enter the enclosures and feed a number of these animals whilst interpreting their behaviour and discussing biology, threats and conservation; answering any questions visitors may have.

Would definitely recommend the after dark feeding tour. The kids loved it and so did we. The guide was super knowledgeable and it was amazing seeing the Devils and Quolls up close.

We originally booked the Desert@Devils but an emergency came up and we unable to make the booking or even call to reschedule. The next day I called to apologise and ask if my booking could be moved to the next night. They were so lovely and moved my booking. It was so worth it. The dessert was lovely (wine, soft drink, snacks, marshmallows toasted in a fire). The commentary was awesome. I learned so much about Devils and Quolls.

This was a great opportunity to see not just Tasmanian devils but also eastern quolls and spotted tail quolls up close during feeding, and also to learn lots of interesting things about them. Our guide Rory was very knowledgeable and happy to answer lots of questions.

Really enjoyed this experience . All the animals were great to view , despite the rain falling. Our guide was super informative and delivered the information in a fun and quirky way the piqued your interest. Certainly opened our eyes to what we then experienced on the roads driving around Tassie

One of the most informative wildlife experiences I have been on. Our guide for the evening was The Best! Devils @Cradle provide a great environment for their furry family of devils and quolls. It appears to be above the standard I have seen elsewhere in the state. Well Done .

The "Dessert with the Devil" was an incredible experience and well worth every cent of the reasonably priced admission fee which also goes towards supporting conservation efforts. We loved learning all about these amazing creatures from deeply knowledgeable, passionate staff who welcomed questions. They keep the group size small so everyone can see what's happening when they feed the devils and quolls. There is even an opportunity to have a pat! Can't recommend this enough.

This tour was unexpectedly awesome! It was so informative and interesting. The guide was so knowledgeable and was keen on sharing all that she knew. We saw multiple feedings of devils & quolls and learned so much about them. We came away with a better understanding of these animals that we’d never seen before.
