Explore and admire Auckland's largest regional park, the Waitakere Ranges, on this 5 hour afternoon eco-tour. The perfect way to get out of the city and enjoy the nature on Auckland's door step.

You'll be picked up from your centrally located Auckland hotel before traveling 30-minutes west to the Waitakere Ranges.

From here travel further west to enjoy a walk in the rainforest before visiting the beautiful Piha Beach for a walk on the soft black sand.

Afternoon refreshments are provided along with full commentary from our driver guides.

Lovely little half day nature trip out of Auckland

This is an awesome experience! Start off with a trip to a visitor center to learn about indigenous history and see some sweet views of the harbor. Then a nice trek through the forest to see some of NZ’s forestry, then top it off with a trip to the absolutely stunning Piha beach. This was my first black sand beach and it was so cool. Took my shoes off and walked around the sand and in the water before heading back home. The guides were both great and were super friendly and knowledgeable about everything we asked them. Great tour and definitely recommend it!

Guide takes you to some really cool nature spots and views within a decent driving distance of Auckland. Guide was extremely knowledgeable and able to answer my many questions. You do take a walk on the tour that is fairly level, 45 min, and what I would consider easy. My favorite was probably Piha Beach due to it being my first black sand beach. Would recommend to anyone who wants to understand some of the culture, land, flora and history of the area. Definitely worth the time and money.

In a week full of wonderful experiences, this tour was at the very top of the most memorable experiences. Our guide Jason was amazing and engaged with the whole group. We had a lovely day at Piha beach and the rainforest walk was very educational. Noel was a great guide, very kind, informative and a safe driver. This tour is highly dependent on great weather.
