We had an excellent experience from the beginning planning of our tour to the end. It was easy to negotiate what we wanted to see and how we wanted to travel and stay. We had several different drivers during our 2 week plus trip. All drivers were friendly, experienced, warm and informative. We loved Palermo at Easter and especially the agritourismo farms where we stayed. The Roman villa tour was the best ancient history presentation ever. It is a stunning site. Spring in Sicily is beautiful and not as hot or crowded as summer. Go for the history, the food, the architecture and the landscapes. We highly recommend TourofSicily - Goitalytours.

Tour was outstanding as was the guide. The historical significance of the temples, coupled with the beautiful views made for an extremely memorable experience. The mosaic floors in the Casale were equally beautiful, just in a different way.

It's a relief to walk easier than I thought. That statue at the ruins was recent. Well, of course... The valley was enjoyed by the ancient ruins, which were not as hot as forty-five years ago, and we were able to visit at a good time. I still think it's a place to go. Armelia saw so many mosaics, and there were places where they were ruined, but I thought the arrowhead mosaics stayed beautiful for so long.

Excellent, knowledgeable guide inside the Valley of the Temples. Bus ride long but bearable. Don’t sit over the wheel. Definitely worth the effort.

We were driven to the sites in a very comfortable van. Our host Giovanni was friendly and good looking. 🙂 The tour guide in Agrigento, Giovanni, was very knowledgeable and interesting. Over all, a great day trip.

If you are in Palermo and have any interest in antiquity, this tour is really worthwhile, visiting two very significant ancient Greek and Roman sites in Sicily. One of the temples is preserved almost intact and seeing this 2500 year old structure still standing is very special. The mosaics in the Roman villa are similarly impressive. A couple of notes about this trip - firstly, it's a VERY long day and one needs to be prepared for this. We left Palermo at around 6:30am, and were only back around 5pm. One travels more than 250km during the day, and although all the roads are tarred, the ride can be very bumpy. If you have a back issue, make sure you don't sit at the rear of the vehicle (which is a very nice MB bus). The tour reaches the Valley of the Temples at around mid-day, and even though it was already autumn, the day was hot - take lots of water, a hat, and sunscreen, as there isn't much shade. Also take every opportunity to use a WC, as these are few and far between on the trip. There is an opportunity to buy coffee and breakfast at the Roman villa site, as well as something for lunch at the Valley of the Temples, but bringing along some snacks, and WATER, is a highly recommended.

This is a great tour. If you can afford it it's worth it. You get taken to two of the best archaeological sites in Italy which are both quite a distance from Palermo - it's probably the best way to see these sites if you're staying here. (do note that each site will cost you an extra 17 € per person). You get picked up at 6:30 am & dropped back at 5:30pm which is good as you then have a full evening. Our tour leader Lorenzo & driver Giacomo were both friendly and genuinely helpful and really made the day go smoothly and provided an excellent service all day. An hour into the trip you visit a roadside café which has fantastic pastries and sandwiches - another review called it a petrol station which is technically true but a little unfair as the fresh food on offer is much better than a typical UK petrol station shop. Then it's two more hours to the Valley of Temples which is amazing. We had a guide there, Sergio, who took us on an easy two hour walk through the site. He was a fount of knowledge on everything from antiquity to biodiversity and his enthusiasm was really great. Then it's an hour to the Roman villa, which has the most excellent well preserved mosaics over an extensive site. You self guide here (you can buy an audio guide but we didn't , there's plenty of info on signs all around) and can choose to spend some of the allotted two hours in the little souvenir shop/ street food area if you want. Then it's three hours back - so go to the loo before you leave. Would highly recommend if you're staying in Palermo and want to see these sites.
