The archaeological park of Agrigento - the largest in the world - spreads over an extensive area. Within its confines rise the magnificent remains of the once powerful Greek colony - walls, necropolises, houses, public buildings, and open sanctuaries. But what attracts millions of visitors every year to this UNESCO World Heritage Site is above all the amazing series of beautiful Doric temples.
Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness

Valle dei Templi
This is your entrance ticket to the Valley of the Temples and the main focus of your attention will be the series of seven monumental temples in Doric style. They were constructed during the time when Akragas was one of the most powerful cities of Magna Graecia (the "Greater Greece" colonies), during the 6th and 5th centuries BC. The temples of ancient Akragas are some of the best-preserved ancient Greek temples outside of Greece and are inscribed on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997!!! Please note that only full ticket is available online and that reserved tickets must be picked up showing the confirmation voucher (sent by the provider) at the bookshop located at the rest stop on Piazzale Hardcastle.

We paid in advance to save time. At the venue it meant absolutely nothing. Had to join the line and after much back and forth something was found. Why give you a margin when it does not help. Not clear that these are tickets only

The site contains many Greek temples that were well preserved and very interesting. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and a hat, and use plenty of sunscreen. Take a water bottle as there are taps you can use to refill them. Toilets are clean and conveniently sited. Having said this, I was greatly disappointed by the ticket deal with Viator. I paid too much for the tickets - €44 each! The tickets at the gate were only €17 per person, so I felt this was a ripoff. Also, food and drink near the site are expensive.

Well worth a visit. The site has several beautiful and interesting Greek temples in various states of preservation. Buy a bus ticket from a tobacconist for 1.4 euro and catch the No 1 bus from the train station to avoid pricey taxi fares. You can catch any bus back up to the station. There are quite a lot of tour groups, so go early in the morning, when it is also cooler. Make sure that you bring water, a hat and sunscreen and comfortable walking shoes. There are taps to refill water bottles and plenty of public toilets. Be careful and watch where you step, as we witnessed someone turn their ankle and fall over on the uneven and rocky ground. I recommend that you do NOT buy tickets in advance online via Viator. We paid 44 euro each when the gate price was only 17 euro. The museum is also very good but it is about 25 minutes walk up the hill. You can get a taxi from the archeological site to the museum for 3 euro per person. The bus stop to return to the train station is across the road from the museum.

I recommend to those who come to visit this wonderful place to book tickets online with a wide choice of walking the route, or by bike, and with a tour guide. The price of admission per adult is € 17.00 and then you add the services you want to opt for.

A fantastic place but there was no advantage of pre booking as we had to join the general queue and we also paid more than those who paid at the ticket booth. Definitely no advantage of this.

The temple complexes were impressive and you could see a lot of exciting things! The park is huge. The checkout staff was unfortunately very unfriendly - we were bluffed on and urged to pay by card..

That we had to pay for new tickets as the email sent to us from Viator with our ticket barcide was not headed as a Viator email and we dud not find it until the afternoon after the booking. We would love a refund but as the site is difficult to traverse, it's impossible to explain. No more booking through Viator.

The site is enchanting but buying tickets through TripAdvisor’s website is m****. When I got there, I was told that the supplier had cancelled my tickets. I had to buy more to access the site. I then applied to TripAdvisor for a refund and got a refund
