Taking off from the Alaska Glacier Lodge in the Mat-Su Valley to the Knik Glacier (5 miles wide by 29 miles long!). We land right in the middle of the Knik Glacier, where you can get out of the helicopter and spend about 30 minutes on ice thousands of years old with your pilot/guide. We provide ice spikes for you to safely hike on the ice Take pictures of the blue lakes on top of the glacier, crevasses and ice ‘sculptures’ made by wind, sunshine & time. (Summer)
**WINTER TOURS (Oct-April) please note that this tour in some winter months may not land directly on top of the glacier due to snow cover and safety issues, landing may be on the side next to incredible deep blue ice formations**
Total tour time 1 hour includes 30 mins for round trip flightseeing
CHECK IN 45 mins PRIOR TO DEPARTURE IS REQUIRED - please check departure address to plan accordingly. Late check in can result in a shortened or cancelled tour with no refund

WINTER TOURS - October - April -we are unable to land on top of the glacier due to snow cover. We will land next to the glaciers near the massive ice formations
Guests 300lbs or over require our Astar Helicopter to fly. This is not available for every time/day.Please call direct to assure we have that helicopter available to accommodate prior to booking.
Alaska Helicopter Tours has Robinson 44s and ASTAR helicopters. We never guarantee the type of helicopter you will be flying in unless a private helicopter option is purchased. Parties with multiple separate bookings, or parties over 2 passengers may be in 2 helicopters, but will always be together for the tour.

4.00Weather prevented us from having our experience. That being said, the staff were extremely friendly, professional, and helpful. We were refunded not only for the helicopter ride, but also for the shuttle that took us out there. That they took our safety into consideration over profits was one of the reasons that we would book with Viator again.

5.00An Unforgettable Helicopter Tour with the Kindest Guide Ashley! This Alaska helicopter glacier tour was absolutely breathtaking—stunning glaciers and getting up close to the icy wilderness! The glacier view was beautiful and unforgettable! But what made the experience even more amazing was my guide’s incredible thoughtfulness and responsibility. I accidentally left a pair of my shoes in the locker after the tour and only realized it once I was on my way back. I reached out to the team with little hope of getting them back, but my guide went out of their way to find my shoes, keep them safe, and even helped coordinate to bring them to me. Throughout the tour, Ashley making sure everyone felt at home the whole time. To go above and beyond their duties to help a forgetful traveler like me? That’s the kind of service that makes a trip truly special. I couldn’t have asked for a better tour team. If you’re planning a helicopter tour here, I’ll definitely recommend this to friends!

5.00This was the most amazing thing to see. It was easy to book the experience, staff was wonderful. Our Pilot was phenomenal - and took so many pictures. We chose the 1 landing option. He asked us what we were most interested in seeing and we told him the blue pools and he found a perfect spot to sit down in the midst of some pools and explained a lot about what we were seeing and the depth of the frozen pools that we were looking at You couldn’t have asked for more on the ride back he was able to point out many different wild animals there was the Dahl sheep, black, bear, and moose and a swan!
