Catacombs Of Kom El Shoqafa
The Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, located in Alexandria, are one of the most important archaeological sites in Egypt. Built in the 2nd century AD, they served as a family tomb during the Roman period and were later expanded. The site features a spiral staircase, funeral banquet hall (triclinium), and beautifully carved sarcophagi and statues that blend Egyptian gods, Roman dress, and Greek art. The carvings show gods like Anubis dressed as Roman soldiers, reflecting the cultural fusion of the time. Rediscovered in 1900 when a donkey fell into the shaft, the catacombs were later restored. Today, they attract tourists for their unique mix of architecture, history, and mystery.

5.00Reem was an excellent tour guide — very kind, honest, and genuinely caring. Before coming to Egypt, I was honestly hesitant because of things I read online about tourists getting scammed. But this trip completely changed my perspective. The people here are actually warm, respectful, and welcoming. Reem made us feel safe and comfortable the entire time. She explained everything clearly, never rushed us, and always looked out for us. She even surprised us with free ice cream in Alexandria, which was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture! Her driver was also very kind and helpful, making the whole experience smooth and stress-free. Thanks to Reem, our visit to Egypt became one of the most memorable trips we’ve ever had. Highly recommended — you’ll be in very good hands!

5.00Ibraham and Reem were our driver and guide for a wonderful day exploring Alexandria. We saw the sights, learned the history and ate the city’s specialties,Azza ice cream and kebda. The sea was very wavy and we had fun taking pictures while avoiding the big waves. Highlights: Citadel, Catacombs and Food! Overall a great day!

5.00A full day private tour in the beautiful city of Alexandria. Sahar, our tour guide was well educated, knowledgeable, friendly and caring. Ibrahim, our driver was efficient and careful on the crazy roads of Egypt. They did a great duet for a long - 3 hours - drive with pleasant atmosphere and arabic music. We visited the Catacombs, the Pompey's pillar, the Alexandrian library and the Qaitbay fortress with lots of storytelling regarding the monuments. We finished our private tour with a delicious fish meal in a nice restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean sea and then we enjoyed our coffee and shisha by the sand while the sun goes down. We felt very welcome during the whole trip. We started as customers and we ended up as friends. This tour is highly recommended and completely worth every single penny. Lay back with no rush and let the experts guide you into the Egyptian history and culture.

5.00Experience was amazing in this trip. We got picked up on time from our hotel. We had lovely , friendly guide Mariam . She is polite, loving and friendly. She expressed and explained history of all monuments and places. Lunch was delicious with sea side view. Mariam was there with us in our whole trip. We booked VIP all inclusive trip 140 GBP for two of us, which was really worth it. So I would recommend Mariam and her company for tour to Alexandria. Loved it.
