I really enjoyed this Day Trip to Alexandria from Cairo. The Catacombs of Kom El Shokafa were absolutely amazing and one of the standout stops for me. My personal highlight, though, was Qaitbay Citadel. Even though the ancient lighthouse is no longer there, standing near and seeing the exact site of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World was a special experience. We didn’t go inside the citadel, but this was clearly stated in the itinerary beforehand. The guide, Mohammed was very knowledgeable and funny, and also very attentive. At lunch, we were initially seated away from the water, and when the guide noticed my disappointment, he immediately asked the restaurant to change our seats so we could enjoy the view — a small gesture that made a big difference. There were a lot of stops, but they were all worth seeing, and the tour gave me a great overview of the city. Now I know exactly where I’d like to return and spend more time on a future visit. Overall, great value and a fantastic introduction to Alexandria.

Mohamed is a highly professional guide and an excellent Egyptologist. His deep knowledge and clear explanations made my tour fascinating. Passionate, well-organized, and attentive, he truly brings ancient Egyptian history to life. Highly recommended.

Excellent driver and tour guide. There were a few places, like the first stop ('the garden') where I feel we wasted some time that could have then been spent somewhere else. Also would have been good if it was clearer that the library was closed on Fridays - I had 5 days to choose from to go. But overall a very good trip

Mohammed was our tour guide and I'm so glad that we took this trip! It was super convenient and a great way to see the highlights of Alexandria from Cairo. As we were switching hotels in Cairo that night, they were even kind enough to store our bags in the car and drop of us at our new location at the end of the tour! Alexandria was stunning. We were lucky to have warmth from the sun. The Roman burial site was a highlight for me, and Mohammed was so insightful in bringing to life what some of the key symbols in the tombs meant and how they are still looking into the site. He even read some of the hieroglyphics. The lunch was fine. If you like seafood, you're in for a treat! All of the stops were well timed and I never felt rushed though I did feel that we had time to see everything. I also enjoyed seeing the church of St Mark and hearing about its history.

We had a great time on this tour. Our tour guide, Norhan was amazing. She was attentive, knowledgeable and great company. She even gave us great tips for the rest of our journey in other parts of egypt. I absolutely recommend her. Our driver Mahmoud was also an extremely sweet and kind guy. We had a great day!

We had about 6 stops in Alexandria after a 2.5 hr drive from Cairo AP area. We have been in Egypt for 2 weeks, and unfortunately the Alexandria sites seemed a bit anti climatic after what we had seen over the past 2 weeks. It was no fault of the guide! The library was closed for a holiday, so that was dissappointing.

Day started off punctually with pick up at 6:30 am for us and our fellow travelers. Sadly our trip got delayed 2,5 hours because traffic was stopped by the police due to fog on the desert road to Alexandria. Eventually the road was cleared and we arrived safely to Alexandria around 13:30. The driver was very responsible and we felt safe on the road. We even had a quick midway stop for buying snacks and going to the bathroom. Once in the city, our guide Mohammed, was so nice and knowledgeable! Even though we started the tour late he managed to time everything so we could see everything listed on the itinerary (see pictures). In order to do so, our lunch turned out to be dinner at a local restaurant with harbor view. I am vegan and I really appreciate that Mo arranged for a vegan option for me (steamed vegetables, pasta, french fries and Egyptian bread with multiple spreads like hummus, tahini). Alexandria is so beautiful and full of history! Definitely worth doing and booking this day trip! -Brisa Torres (Jan 2026)

Incredible day in Alexandria ! The guide Mohammed was really available and well prepared! He explains to us different stories and curiosities, he was happy to answer to any questions! He never rushed us and even during the shopping, he didn't push to buy anything (sometimes it can happen, but not at all with him) Very suggested! We really enjoyed it ☺️
