What To Expect
Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa
Your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel In Alexandria to start your tour. First visit the insides of the Catacombs of Kom El Shokafa which are the largest Roman Cemetery consisting of three levels cut in the rock.
You will also drive by Pompay’s Pillar and stop for a photo stop, (it was constructed in honor of the Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century)

4.00Our guide Karim arrived on time. Disappointing, although the booking was for 4 people and the VIP your, the vehicle was only a medium sized SUV so with 6 people including the driver, 3 people had to sot on the back seat and 1 person jad yo crawl into the space behind the seats- not very comfortable gor all and certainly not suitable. In terms of needing to aee as many of the sights of Alexandria in one day, this tour hits most of the high points in quite a well organised way that we arrived at before most of the crowds. Karim was quite knowledgeable although tended to speak very fast with a well rehearsed spiel .

4.00We joined this tour in order to see the most of Alexandria especially the new library. For years we have searched for boats going to Alexandria.It was an excellent tour.the guide was very knowledgable.Unfortunately we had too little time at the library. One small critisism: We were taken to our lunch only at 15h30 and then rushed at 16h00 to get back to the cruiseship.Surely we could have had lunch at 12h00-13h00? All in all it was great value for money.We were a bus full of people which also took longer to climb in- and out. my husband is 82 and I am 70.We thoroughly enjoyed the day.

5.00Mahmoud was an excellent tour guide and showed us all around Alexandria. Had fun at all the stops and enjoyed the lunch. The only downsides were the fairly long walk (NOT 3 minutes) from the cruise ship to the meeting point, and the somewhat rundown appearance of the tour van.

1.00This was, without question, the worst tour experience I have ever booked. I urge others to avoid it. 1. Zero Communication & Safety Risk: The tour guide never contacted us after booking. The provided meeting location was completely incorrect, literally mapping to an unsafe spot near Alexandria Port. We had to rely on a friend's driver to drop us at the Cecil Hotel at 9:00 AM. We were left stranded with no guide and no contact until we reached out to Viator customer support ourselves. When the guide finally called, he directed us to walk for 30 minutes to meet him. Being left stranded and feeling completely unsafe in an unfamiliar country is unacceptable. 2. Poor Guide Quality: Once the tour finally started, the guide's performance was subpar. His English was very poor, making it nearly impossible to communicate effectively or understand the historical explanations. 3. Itinerary Failure: The tour failed to deliver the promised itinerary. Key sites, like the Citadel of Qaitbay, were not visited. We spent most of the time driving, with the guide simply pointing out major attractions from the car with a quick "it's on the right," rather than stopping or entering. This tour was a complete waste of money and severely impacted our day. The organization was non-existent, and the failure to confirm the meeting point put our safety at risk. I demand a full refund.

5.00Excellent experience covering the main sights to see in the limited time available. There were 15 of us in the small comfortable coach led by our very knowledgable and efficient guide Mahmout. Highlights were a short visit to the amazing futuristic library; the catacombs; and the royal palace grounds. 7 hour tour including optional lunch. Back to the port for cruise liner. Well recommended.

5.00I took the Alexandria tour with multiple cultural and archaeological stops throughout the city. Essam, the driver, was excellent, calm (which is essential for driving in Egypt!) and always smiling, despite the traffic. Macy, the guide, was fantastic, kind, and genuinely wanted me to have a wonderful day that met my expectations, even suggesting additional options (e.g., short stops) to add to the itinerary. In fact, it was my best tour since arriving in Egypt, and that's largely thanks to her. At the Library of Alexandria and the Sadaat Museum, Shaza, the guide at this small museum, was very professional and extremely knowledgeable about everything on display. It was a full and very interesting day, especially thanks to Macy's work. I have rarely seen a guide so attentive to her clients' needs!

5.00Flawless!! What an amazing day in Alexandria! Our guide Paula met us right on time with an expert driver in a comfortable air conditioned coach. All needs were met without hesitation, driver was professional and courteous. Paula was extremely knowledgable and it felt less like being on a tour and more like having a friend show you around their hometown. Through the chaos of a bustling city we were well cared for and even when we had a specific request, he made a phone call and made it happen. Lunch was amazing as well. Don’t miss your chance to see the city as a local! Can’t say enough about the perfect day we spent is Alexandria.
