Our tour guide speaks English very well. He explained everything so clearly. His name is Walid. Sorry if I am wrong or forgot his name.

We had a great day except for lunch. Guide asked if we wanted a local lunch or frish. We all wanted local but didn't realizewhat that meant. We didn;t get a hot meal in this nice restaurant but rather what looked like a bigger tap raman with local ingredients. Saw it later on street for $1. Van was good, driver good and we liked our guide. Due to complications of one member who was half hour late and the time we spent (by request) buying $18 tuxedos (great quality) we had just under 7 hours of touring. We went to catacombs (wonderful), Qaitbay Fort and the Bibliotheca ok. The library will not allow you inside the reading rooms so all we saw was the room where the model is and old Alexandria pictures but no cameras allowed in that room. The visit to library should have been shorter as should the Qaitbay which should have just been 5 minutes. We stopped at the Pillar but did not go over there. We stopped unnecessarily at a papyrus store. We also went into the Coptic church. Here is my suggestion. Once at the van in the beginning go through the possibilities with your guide. Decide together what you will see. We never saw the Egyptian Museum or the Roman amphitheater. Let's talk about tuxedos. Across from the Coptic church were the many stores selling suits and tuxedos. The pricing was ridiculously low. Two of us bought tuxedos for $18usd. Great quality and includes pants. One friend needed the pants altered and that was done for FREE. The driver stopped by 2 hours later and picked up the tux. Perfect.

Fantastic tour with Mohamed Salama. The places we saw and the information given by Mohamed was spot on. He and his driver were so accommodating and courteous. We chose to have lunch as part of our tour and we were taken to a restaurant that had a lovely view of the ocean and yummy food. Wonderful way to spend the day.

We had a lovely day with Waleed in Alexandria. Alexandria is a city rich in history and culture and Waleed has a wealth of knowledge about his city. In our day tour we were able to cover all the major sites. We were in Alexandria for 2 nights, but the 1st night was a wash because our flight arrived in Cairo in the afternoon and we ended up arriving in Alexandria in the evening. I recommend 2 full days in Alexandria. Our time in the library didn't allow us to go inside the reading area and our time in St. Mark's Cathedral was very brief. I now have an excuse to go back to Alexandria to spend more time at these sites and to visit my friend Waleed.

Karim our tour guide was excellent. He showed us many sides of Alexandria, besides the items on our list, like the different neighborhoods. His explanation of the Jewelry Museum and the Roman-Greco Museum were very understandable.
