Enjoy tasting three types of wine at each vineyard, while you learn more about wine flavours and how to better degustate.
Then ascend to the highest peak in the Algarve region of southern Portugal. Feast on a lunch or dinnner with view to the coastline sunset in a mountain top restaurant with some of the best Portuguese cuisine specialties and a panoramic view over Algarve.

What To Expect
Located on the north border area of Portimão and Alvor. With the big mountain of Monchique, that dominates the view when we are at the vineyards, this large property has also growing areas of cork trees, wheat fields and orange trees. In the family since 1865 and producers of grapes from a long time, this farm built their modern winery in 1999 and were the first producing certified designation of origin wines in the Algarve. In the esplanade, at the shop or at the oak barrels is visible the tradition of this family estate.
Quinta Do Frances Winery
Located north Portimão, already on Silves county. It's an exclusive wine farm production, the one located most north in the region ,right on the beginning of the Monchique Mountains. Owned by a portuguese-french couple that met at Bordeaux, where he was born and grew up surroundend by the influence of wine. They moved in the region at the beginning of the century to start this project from zero. In the slopes of Odelouca River Vlley, they planted their vineyard and built their small but well equiped winery, that also hosts a tasting room, barrels room and laboratory.

5.00What an excellent way to spend the morning and afternoon. The outfit is a family operation, meaning the tour guide has a personal stake in ensuring you have a good time. The vineyards on your tour are family farms that put great effort into producing excellent wines. The view from the terrace on the mountain top at lunch was stunning, and the food was absolutely superb. Don’t miss this very fun activity!

The scenery along the way was amazing. The lunch at the top of the mountain was quite an experience! Would def recommend!

5.00Fabio was helpful, knowledgeable, and comfortable to be around throughout the day. The van is also comfortable and air conditioned. We both get carsick and had no issues even going up and down the mountain. There were two of us, so we did one premium tasting and one regular tasting at each Quinta, which was a fun way to try more of the wines. Driving up to Monchique was very beautiful, and you get to see the cork forest on the way up. We went to O Luar da Foia, where we both tried black pork. This is a LARGE amount of food, so go hungry, because it is delicious! Overall, this was a wonderful experience. Fabio is very patient and personable, and answered all of our questions. The wine and food were delicious. Fabio’s recommendations were great. Don’t skip this!

We learned so much about the history of Algarve wine production through modern day, and simply relaxed and enjoyed the beauty of the mountains and welcoming spirit of the residents in this region. 5.00It was a very fun and informative excursion. Fabio covered the wine making process from the vine to the bottle. The wine samples were great and he did a great job describing the variations of different wines we sampled. Sunset view from top of the mountain was beautiful and dinner was absolutely fantastic.
