The Alhambra
The Alhambra, located on the Sabica hill, is an Andalusian palatine city. Its name comes from the reddish colour of its walls, coming from the clay of the land itself (Al-Hamra in Arabic). It is formed by a group of palaces, gardens and fortress where there was a citadel within the city of Granada itself, its main function was to serve as accommodation for the monarch and the court of the Nasrid Kingdom of Granada. There are also Christian settlements, such as the palace of Charles V and the church of Santa Maria, built on top of the old mosque. It is one of the most visited monuments in Spain and was declared a World Heritage Site in 1984. Enjoy the visit with an official guide.

Unfortunately the French of the guide was average, so the explanations of the site were very basic. I don't feel like I've come out of this culturally richer.

Borja was amazing with his knowledge and passion of the Alhambra. He had a good sense of humour and kept us engaged throughout the experience. I highly recommend the experience and my family really enjoyed the experience.

A very friendly and knowledgeable guide to the Alhambra and its history. I recommend both the tour and the guide. He just missed inviting us to lunch. I hadn't stewed anything.

The visit to the Alhambra with the guide Alberto Herrera has been a wonderful and enriching experience. The surprise was that the visit was private for the three of us which made us connect right away with Alberto. I keep raining, raining, in the three hours of the tour, but Alberto made the visit worthwhile with the explanations he gave us and the pampering and affection he put in at all times. He knows the history in detail and he was able to convey his knowledge and passion for Granada in general and the.ALhambra in particular. Thank you Alberto for everything, it was nice to meet you. See you up north. A hug

A very interesting guided tour in French, despite a cold and persistent rain we were able to appreciate the beauty of the Alhambra and its various palaces and gardens. The ascent on foot from the city center is easy.

We booked for 5 adults and one child and later we add another adult however the person we contact at Viator auggested I make the extra payment and no need to add ID of the extera adult despite me insisting that this is a requirement for booking at Alhambra he just ignored my advice and suggested that is not required ao when we arrived we could not at her to our group and she missed out on all the major palaces tour. I totally blame the Viator for this and this was my first and last time I deal with them

It was unfortunate that there were not enough people on the 11am tour and I along with another couple were put on a 10am tour with a mix of English and German speakers, even though our tickets for the Palace were for 11:am. Result guide Francis was having to speak in both languages and took us to the gardens and the military fort and then told the the 3 of us With 11am tickets to go to the palace at 11:45 am and wait there till the rest of the group with 12 noon tickets could get in. We ended up with a huge group. This was not a pleasant experience for either me or I imagine Francis. He was very aware that I was the only person on my own and did not get lost and that was very nice but he was not able to cover the history of the Arab rule in Grenada or their accomplishments. I was disappointed.
