Refreshing day trip to the mountains

I really enjoyed this. I only visited Sydney during this trip so doing a day tour in the mountains allowed me to see more of Australia outside of the city. It was gorgeous up in the mountains. I also really enjoyed the recreation if the rail way ride.

We had a comfortable ride in a small passenger coach to the Blue Mountains park area. Tony, our driver and guide, was most knowledgeable of the area and the sights we were passing along the way, keeping up a running commentary as we motored along. Because the skies were overcast at the start, he altered our route on the fly to give us the best opportunity for good views later in the day. He shepherded us through Scenic World and took us to the Sydney Zoo. We had a very nice hot lunch in a sit-down restaurant and finished the tour on a catamaran ride to downtown Sydney, passing under the Harbor Bridge and past the Opera House. Full marks to Tony for his knowledge and warmth and his care of those in his charge. There were ample rest stops along the way and all but one of the stops for scenic views were an easy walk. Lincoln's Rock was the only stop with a slightly more difficult walk but we found it to be quite manageable as did everyone in our tour group. I highly recommend this tour as we had a great time and we felt it was a good value for our money.

Tom was a fantastic guide! Friendly, always sharing interesting facts and - we got a bit unlucky with the weather - changing the order of the tour to get the best views when the clouds cleared. Punctual pickup, great places visited in the blue mountains, Featherdale park I highly recommend and also the cruise was an experience. Must-do when in Sydney!

Absolutely do NOT recommend this tour. They do not accept wheelchairs but should not sell this tour to ANYONE who has ANY issues with mobility, fear of heights, isn’t 100% physically fit. The day is strenuous which is NOT emphasized enough ( at all?). The tour ends on the ferry wharf which is NOT where it picks up. We were uncomfortable most of the day. If you don’t like roller coasters, DO NOT buy this tour! You must hike regularly and enjoy strenuous exercise. Huge mistake to spend our day like this.
