Frankland Islands Reef Cruises are the only commercial operator allowed to land on stunning Normanby Island, offering ample space and time for relaxation and exploration. Customise your day trip with a variety of optional activities on our all-inclusive tour.

The islands are also home to several endangered species like the green turtle, hawksbill turtle, spectacled flying-fox, and beach stone-curlews. Explore the vibrant underwater world with 200 coral species around Normanby and Mabel islands, part of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park's total of 600 species.

On Frankland Islands, stars aren't just in the sky—they're beneath your feet! Baclogypsina sphirulata, known as Sand Stars found on Normanby Island, are typically rare and found on beaches across the Indo-Pacific. They're often considered unique to Okinawa, Japan, but it's our hidden delight that you can also discover them in a secluded spot on Normanby Island.

It was a nice way to see outer area of Reef! The crew are very nice and attentive. The small island was nice due to small number of people. There was a nice amount of different fish to see, some small sharks, stingers and some beautiful bright corals. The glass bottom boat could use a refresh! The lunch was delicious!

I'd booked this trip up several months in advance and were really looking forward to it. We were advised, nearer the time, of an 8 a.m. pick up from my hotel. We waited and waited. Eventually I contacted the operator via Viator, who advised me that they'd tried contacting me (not hard enough in my opinion) to advise me of a 07.05 pick up. I'd received no communication to that effect whatsoever. Thankfully, I received a full refund, but that's not really the point when you and your family are eagerly anticipating a great day out. Just be careful booking this through Viator.
