Set off on this tour of Annecy, the Venice of the Alps, to learn about it's delicious food and its importance in the history of France.
You will visit the old town, the most romantic part of the city, starting at “Le Pont des Amours”. You will make 5 stops to try local wines grown on the steep mountains, enjoy a charcuterie tasting, try a tasty tartiflette made by local craftsmen, and discover the local sweets by creative artisans. You will finish on a more audacious touch, the Genepi, produced with herbs that seem to cure all evils (including sadness).

It's a good walking tour with some good information on Annecy. A few food stops but minimal tasting. Suggest integrating food markets fr a better experience.

We loved this beautiful city very clean with bike paths, footpaths around the lake allowing very nice walks. The surrounding mountains are also beautiful with beautiful hikes. We made a paragliding flight. Extraordinary experience with magnificent views. It's all great experiences.

How to combine useful with pleasant. Make a visit while eating. Although I expected more information about the city....the tour was in line with what we wanted to see

Tour was fun but not as good as in previous cities. Didn’t feel we experienced the real taste of Annecy.

My wife and I attended this tour earlier this week and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It started off with a gourmet cheese tasting in an award winning cheese mongers, with a small glass of white wine to accompany. We then moved on to sample a local tartiflette, taste some truffle products, have a very nice (and large) dessert and finished off with a couple of handmade chocolates. Our guide Delphine was wonderful - friendly, engaging and knowledgeable about the local area and the food we were given. So why 4 stars instead of 5? Honestly, it was mostly a "value for money " issue. The only drinks on offer were water apart from the initial glass of wine and a thimble of truffle limoncella . We probably had about 50 euros worth of food each, for about 150 euro cost. I'd maybe have liked to try some local fish dishes rather than quite so much cheese. These are relatively minor quibbles though. It was a lovely few hours walking around the streets and learning some of the towns history

Good tour but we would have appreciated more information about each stop and why it was selected to be included on the tour. Just walking around looking at things. Some historical information would be interesting to include as well. For example: That Annecy was part of the Kingdom of Sardinia is interesting but there was no discussion of how that affected food culture or architecture. It was also a market day and we really didn’t hear much about how frequently markets are held and where food is sourced. Two final thoughts: 1. Your guide should be easy to find. Wear a color jacket, color backpack or something so we can find you at the start of the tour and in crowds. 2. The guide should move with the tour, not ahead of it. Stop more frequently and talk to the group as a whole, not just to the folks next to you in a crowd.

Had some confusion finding our guide at the meeting spot and the guide and phone number given in confirmation were not the same as the guide we did meet up with. (Although she had our name and number). The stops along the way were enjoyable and Slyvie was very personable

Maeva took us to five places on the food tour. She was very knowledgeable about Annecy and gave us suggestions on what to do/eat for the rest of our trip as well. We went to 1) a truffle store where we got to sample different truffles, 2) a local restaurant where we had a local dish called Tartiflette, 3) a cheese shop, 4) pastry shop, and 5) a chocolate shop. I definitely recommend.
