Our guide, CHRIS, is great! The smaller group was wonderful because it allowed us to get to know each other. Really at the end of the tour, we felt like the six of us bonded for we have explored and learned about the rich history of China. I recommend the small group tour because it feels more personal and nimble that you feel like you visited and done a lot of activities in just a day.

There were four of us on my tour. Our guide Bruce was very knowledgeable about Chinese history and culture and set the stage for the things we were to see on the tour. Before the Great Wall we made a stop at Ming Tombs, which was unexpected but a nice bonus. And after the Great Wall we went to a tea company to learn about different types of tea, and of course to make purchases if desired. The Jade factory was really just a shopping opportunity, but it was interesting to see the craftsmen at work. The Great Wall itself was incredible. Our group chose to pay extra for the chair lift up to the wall, and then the toboggan slide to come back down. What fun! Bruce took photos of our group at both the Ming Tomb and on the Wall, and also as we were getting off the toboggans. He sent them to us later via WeChat. The visit to the Olympic Stadium was simply stopping the van at a distance to be able to take a photo. I've learned to expect that in Asia, flexibility is key. While this trip wasn't exactly what I expected - it contained extra stops - it was a great day visiting attractions that would have been difficult to do on my own. Bruce took great care of us, and our driver got us to each spot safely. The weather was freezing on our tour, so the selling point of the air conditioned van was kind of funny good news was that the heat in the van worked!
