Tip: the Forbidden City ticket is not guaranteed. It can be booked 1 week before. If it is sold out, you will do the Jinshan Hill to have a bird view of the Forbidden City and your guide will take you to the place where quite close to it. If not work for you, you will get fully refund.

What To Expect
Tiananmen Square (Tiananmen Guangchang)
Begin your Beijing adventure one day tour from your hotel. Your guide and driver will meet you at your hotel lobby in the morning and start you lovely trip from downtown Beijing. You will first visit the Tian'anmen Square, one of the largest city squares in the world. Stroll around the Square, you will see he Great Hall of the People, the National Museum of China, Chairman Mao's Mausoleum and the Monument to the People's Heroes.
Forbidden City-The Palace Museum
Then walk to the magnificent Forbidden City. Entry with your pre-booked ticket. Begin your exploration of the world's largest imperial complex, also one of the best-preserved sites in the world. Once the imperial palace for the Ming and Qing dynasties, it is now home to the Palace Museum.

Great Wall is amazing, but limited English and tour guidance

2.00The Great Wall is fantastic, such an iconic place to visit. Unfortunately we didn't go to the Forbidden City as we were told it closes at 4pm and we wouldn't have enough time to make it there (the tour started at the Great Wall). I am very curious and I'd love to know more about China's history and the history and stories from the places we visited, however our guide's English was difficult to understand and not many history and stories shared. We used online guides to get the most out of it, and would get closer to other groups to hear their guides sharing fascinating stories. It was more a tour leader than a tour guide on our case.
