What To Expect
Giant Panda Breeding Research Base (Xiongmao Jidi)
7:30am, meet your private guide and driver at your hotel lobby and be transferred to Chengdu Panda Breeding Center to see active pandas from baby to adults before it becomes crowded. Chengdu panda base is a lovely garden with bamboo forests, swan lake, lush trees that will definitely make your visit memorable. Enjoy the panda babies while they play, drink milk, eat bamboos, and sleep...etc. See some of the super stars - adolescent pandas (teenagers). There are 5 to 7 teenage pandas (about 3 years old) living in the big open enclosure. In addition to giant pandas, you will also see endangered red pandas. They are part of the raccoon family with long tails and beautiful red furs.
Leshan Giant Buddha (Da Fo)
After panda, drive to Leshan where is home of Leshan Giant Buddha. Before visiting Leshan Giant Buddha, your guide will walk you around the old quarter of Leshan city to explore the local life and lunch will be arranged in time-honored restaurant ,your guide will recommend the most authentic and representative dishes. After lunch, discuss with your guide to choose which option to visit Leshan Giant Buddha Option 1:Hike the Leshan Giant Buddha Heritage park Option 2.Take the river cruise to behold the panoramic view of Leshan Giant Buddha After the visit, take your private car back to your Chengdu hotel Your exciting panda+Buddha day trip concludes around 6pm.

5.00We booked two private trips with Westchinago, both which were fantastic. Dujiangyan Panda Volunteering Experience (full day), and a Chengdu Giant Panda Base and Leshan Giant Buddha (full day). We were so lucky to have Lynn as our tour guide for both days. She was wonderful, giving us insights on what to expect for the tours, as well as the city of Chengdu. She was very helpful making suggestions for dinner and other sites we might want to visit during our stay in Chengdu. Prior to all this, as soon as we made the booking, Lily reached out. She explained what she deeded to book the tickets to the panda bases, and a little before the trip, reached out again to explain clearly what we should expect at the panda bases. Both days, we were picked up at our hotel on time. There were two of us, and we were in a comfortable vehicle with a driver, in addition to Lynn. On our way to Dujiangyan, Lynn found out it was my birthday, and she took it upon herself to surprise me with a birthday cake at one of the local tea houses! On top of that, she also informed my hotel! When I got back that evening, there was another birthday cake waiting for me in my room. Thank you so much! Both Lily and Lynn were fantastic in going above and beyond by doing this. The next day, we visited the Giant Panda Base, and Leshan Giant Buddha. Once again, after being picked up at the hotel, Lynn ran through the itinerary for the day. She kindly volunteered to take many pictures of us at the panda base, and was flexible with our time there. We stopped for a delicious lunch before proceeding to the Leshan Giant Buddha. Lynn told us where we should be on the boat for the best view of the buddha, and it did not disappoint. It was a long day (about 10 hours), and totally worth it! This company genuinely cared about ensuring our experience would be memorable. We were so happy with the communication, execution of the itinerary, and our wonderful tour guide, Lynn. We highly recommend this company, and will work with them again on future trips to China. Thank you!

It would be good to have a slightly close up to the baby panda.

5.00For people who can not walk fast and long distance. The shuttle bus is useful. But still have a distance to walk to where the panda are. They have disable friendly slope, who can not walk down the stairs. Good facility

5.00Booked our trip with Lilly - who was fantastic at communicating with us. Yana was our tour guide and she was fabulous. She was very knowledgeable and knew where to take us to see the Pandas and got great photos at the Buddha. Also - the lunch was one of the best - we told her what types of food we liked and she orders an amazing meal for us - we even tried the preserved eggs. Highly recommend this tour!

5.00We had a great experience with our tour guide and driver. Lin (Amber) is a very sympathetic person, very knowledgeable and patient. With her deep experience, she helped us to going through the mobs smoothly. Panda experience was unforgettable since we could see some of them eating and playing outside. The Giant Buddha was also very interesting, despite the distance that we had to go through (almost 2 hours). Considering the distance of the 2 attractions, I recommend the tour, which makes possible to see both in the same day.

Lily Chen was our main point of contact, and she did an outstanding job organizing everything. She's highly professional, extremely knowledgeable about travel across China, and really understood our preferences. Communication with her was seamless and efficient. Lily arranged all our tours with great attention to detail. The guides provided were excellent—fluent in English, informative, and incredibly helpful throughout. The vehicles were spotless, comfortable, and driven by skilled, courteous drivers. After spending a month touring China, I can confidently say that Westchinago is the best tour operator we encountered. My only regret is not using their services in other cities beyond Chengdu and Beijing.
