What To Expect
Park Named After Panfilov’s 28 Guardsmen
This park is one of the oldest in Almaty, where the Holy Ascension Cathedral is located (Almaty's oldest standing cathedral ), which is the most iconic building in the city. In the park you will also see the WW II memorial and Afghanistan War memorial, dedicated to the memory of fighters who died for the freedom and independence of the country
Zeleny Bazar
Next stop will be Zelenyi Bazar (Green Bazar). Historically speaking this bazar attracted town folks for grocery shopping, trade, and town gossip. Today, Green Bazar is a must place to visit in Almaty. Fresh produce, authentic Kazakh dishes, dried fruit, and of course meat are only few reasons to experience this authentic place

5.00Although it was hot, the tour was really enjoyable, interesting and informative. The tour guide certainly knew his stuff and provided a wealth of historical and cultural information about Almaty and Kazakhstan in general. Also, there was interesting info provided on the sites and streets that we saw. I am glad we attended this tour.
Good dry weather. You can pass and enjoy nature and ancient constructions

4.00Beautiful city. It was the capital. Picturesque and nostalgic .Beautiful parks and walks. Orthodox churches. Nice typical restaurants. There's the chocolate factory where you can shop and the instrument museum

4.00Guide was able to really provide solid informed information about the history across all aspects. It was a good introduction to the country and helped pull the threads together from my visit to the museum. He made this a personalised tour and we covered quite a lot of highlights! This is good if you don’t have a lot of time or want to take a deeper dive into history and key differences in culture and some regions of Kazakhstan!

5.00Chingis was my tour guide & was in a small group. Chingis was very good at explaining the history & was very knowledgeable. The Cathedral was very interesting & getting to see amazing architecture. We got to see Kazakhstan army practicing their drill. The statues were amazing. There is so much history I learnt. I would highly recommend this tour !
