Amalfi Coast
The gem of Amalfi is the oldest of Italy’s maritime republics. Whitewashed homes dotting the hillside are illuminated by the abundant sunshine that bathes the city. The basilica’s cupola is a reference to the Sicilian -Arabic influence that once dominated the area. For centuries it has been a popular destination due to its natural beauty and ideal climate.

We did a Limoncello tasting in Sorrento, and explored the beautiful town, which was lovely. The scenery on the drive there was breathtaking. We then drove to Pompeii, which blew us away. It was so much bigger than we had realised, and the history was fascinating. It was a fabulous day, highly recommend.

This was a fun and informative trip.. With seeing the 3 towns in one day, not much time could be spent in any... We were very fortunate to have Alfonso as our driver and guide as he was able to share with us a huge amount of insight. Alfonso shared stories of the areas history along with so much information.

Great driver! Beautiful sites … we had to take a bit of a detour because of a landslide, but our driver made everything worthwhile for us

Alfonso was a fun guide and gave us great tips! We enjoyed our day visiting new places.. One great tip that Alfonso gave us was to take the ferry on the coast, well worth it!

Absolutely beautiful city, built on the mountain side that drops into the ocean. Wander the back streets that lead up into canyons farther inland to see cliffside homes, orchards and shops. Take a bus from Amalfi to Positano, a positively crazy fun short drive. The road is very narrow and the length of the bus on hundreds of tight turns requires the bus to make wide turns that stop on-coming traffic and comes within inches of the cliff side above the bus. Our bus got just a bit too close to the cliffside and scraped, then the window touched the cliff side and exploded glass all over everyone sitting/standing near it. No one was hurt, but it was an amazing experience.

Alfonso was a superb guide. He helped us everywhere we went and pointed out things to do. The drive to and from Amalfi was surreal. He even sang for us on the way back.
