Our tour with Richardo was truly unforgettable. He began with a thoughtful and engaging history walk through Verona, which gave us such a rich sense of the city before we continued into Valpolicella. As a certified sommelier, Richardo brought an incredible depth of knowledge — not just about the wines, but about the land, the traditions, and the families who shape this region. At Gamba Winery, the experience became even more special. One of the family members, Stella, welcomed us and shared the winery’s history along with a fascinating explanation of how they craft their wines — from Valpolicella Classico and Valpolicella Ripasso to Amarone and even their grappa. Hearing the process directly from someone so connected to the estate made the tasting feel intimate and authentic. The wines were exceptional, the setting was beautiful, and the entire experience felt personal, unhurried, and genuinely memorable. We left with a deeper appreciation for Valpolicella and a huge smile on our faces. Highly recommended.

Ricardo had a beautiful new car and first drove us to Verona. His gave us a guided tour and wonderful commentary on the history and architecture of the city. Afterwards we visited a winery specializing in Valpolacella and Amarone wines including the special Amarone Reserva. At this family run winery we were given a tour of the grounds and production facility by one of the lovely owners of the winery. In addition to the wine tasting we had a delightful lunch provided by the winery. What a wonderful pairing of food and wine. Having achieved the distinction of sommelier,Ricardo’s knowledge of wine was very helpful and interesting. We highly recommend this tour especially with Ricardo as your guide. By the way, he is fluent in several languages.

Riccardo curated a fabulous day- he provided wonderful knowledge of Verona and tailored it to our interests, and brought us to a small family owned vineyard. The tour and tasting were fabulous. Highly recommend for a day trip from Venice.

Ricardo treated us like family. NEVER have we had a tour we enjoyed so much. We started with a tour director and left we a lot of knowledge and a friend. The location and quality of the wine exceeded all our expectations .

Our guide Riccardo was excellent. He drove us from Venice to Verona and informed us on the way about the area we were passing through. When we got to Verona he led us on a walking tour and showed us much of the beautiful and historic city center. Then we were driven to a winery that has been in the same family since 1460. We were given a tour of the vineyard and some of the work areas of the winery, followed by a light lunch paired with tasting delicious Valpolicella and Amarone wines. Everything was perfect.

Riccardo was the perfect host and I’d give this trip 10 stars if I could! The day was very well organised and met all of our requirements fully. Riccardo’s knowledge of Verona and surrounding area was impressive as was his knowledge of the Valpollicella wine region. The tours of Verona and of the winery were exquisite! Lots of fun was had too! My wife and I would go on this trip again in a heartbeat. Many thanks Riccardo it was a wonderful day!

Our guide was excellent - professional and very informative. He told us about the regions of Italy which we were driving through. He guided us around the highlights of Verona again keeping us well informed. And finally, he was very knowledgeable about the wines we were tasting and the foods they would best accompany. We thoroughly enjoyed the day from start to finish.

Riccardo was an amazing host and tour guide. Tour Part 1: Incredible knowledge of Verona and the amazing history of the city and its citizens. Venice is nice to visit, but so much more enjoyable when combined with tour to Verona. Tour Part 2: Wine country tour experience was more inclusive than multiple visits to Napa Valley. History of growing process, origin of grapes and historical perspective of Amarone wine. Our wine country visit culminated with a walk in Gamba’s Vineyard and thru the barrel and aging process and to a sampling and food paring experience. 1st class treatment by our host and his arranged tour highlights. Highly recommend this experience.
